i did a search.. and found to relevant post one was poll and the other was thread
in the poll ADT won.. but in the other thred .. everyone was against ADT
so who here uses home security and what do you use? can you provide approx cost monthly and intial.
and another thing i need company that can work with out land line. |

| Smith & Wesson - works great without a landline. |

basic security installation should be free if you sign a contract for 2 or 3 years and pay them monthly for monitoring.
otherwise, if you don't like the alarm company calling you all the time from false alarms, basic setup front back garage and motion sensor should be around $800-$1000.
maybe more if you don't have rough in. just call for an estimate. i know a lot of people just have the ADT "SIGN"
:)
that also works.
i wired up my garage overhead door too, costed me $30 as I just hooked it up myself to the main system. |

umm i have to be in the house to make smith & wesson effective..
what about when I am not in the house, that is what i need the home security for.
i actually googled smith & wesson.. then when i saw the site my dreams were shattered it is gun store |

Why would you do that? The odd chance that someone would try to force your big door open?
Would you be using a keyfob to disarm then? Otherwise how would you not set off the alarm everytime you come home and open the garage as you're pulling in? |

| When we built our house that was an option and they would give you a key fob to disarm your alarm. Plus it is on a delay just like your other doors. I still didn't bother because I didn't see it as a risk and I also wouldn't want another remote to carry around in my pocket. |

| Alarm force is great for us. |

| ok i will get in touch with alrm force.. but the land line thing might be issue with them |
|
|
| SilverZ24 |
| It probably will be an issue for them since they plug a speaker into your phone line which is how they 'talk' to the 'intruders'. lol And their install is pathetic. They won't hide any wires. |

I have ADT & they have been very good to me. Also they did a very good job on the install, no wires showing at all.
It was a free install & I pay around $35 mth. |

not just for security. it's a small chance but hey never know. but also b/c once i have my contact in place. i can also check online to see if my door is open or closed.
say if i fogot to close it...
i also use it to trigger my other automation stuff at home, lights, tv, stero, and other stuff if i want to.
oh ya, it gives me a 3 minute delay to turn it off. but my gf don't enjoy messing with these stuff as much as me lol
ya u can also get a remote to turn that off. my cell blackberry also can :) |

| Mine is VOXCOM...great service, the only issue I had was that the installer was so fucking stupid. I think its 30 a month. |

So where can you buy a ADT/or security sign for your window/lawn? |
|
|
| SilverZ24 |
| ^ walk into almost any security place and tell them someone stole your lawn sign and you would like a new one. Most will just give you one for free. They like the free advertising regardless whether or not you have a system from them. |
