Hmmm looks like I am probaly working tonight so you can all do me a favor, don't piss off the POPO and drive a bit nicer while in traffic.
A little slower and smoother of a drive and everyone can catch up to the lead cars, my favorte types of cruise is when there's 30 cars taking up two lanes and is just humming along.
I would suggest groat road if everyone can just go slow but I don't want my inbox full from any bad going on's from tonights adventures so PLEAZE be good or atleast slightly better. :beer: |

k so couple of weeks ago everyone remember the fag that did a burn out in west ed? the 300zx?
i dont even know the guy but he knew the people that i was with, but i walked up to him right before he did it and told him to not to but he did it anyways, then all of the sudden fingers are being pointed at me for it...
then friday night's meet, one of my buddies in a white prelude showed up and started pumping the music i walked up to him and told him to stop, and he did
and well, im still gettin the shit for it :P
now the question...kinda stupid but..
im guessin with these two events that happend, this shit is making me look really bad at the meets? |

There are a bazillion parking lots in the city. I've always wondered why we meet at/cruise to the same places weekend after weekend. They don't care about UC, as we're close to a cop shop, but we ALWAYS go WEM->SC.
We need to put our massive heads together and figure out better places and which weekends to go to them in. There was that covered parking lot we went to in St. Albert, it was a nice cruise to get there, and it was out of the wind. We could do Kinsmen, Odyssium, then North Common (what a concept) ... cruise from South to North.

There are plenty of different places to go in this city and I think letting one unfortunate situation on the north end keep us away from there completely is just stupid. but north ed common, northside canadian tire, home depot on whitemud and 17th street, the place in st albert sounds good, there are some industrial areas in the west end that are well lit that we could go to.

You guys are just looking for a parking lot to hang out in for a couple of hours without being hassled right?
Why not send one of you're reps to NAIT Patricia Campus to inquire about using their parking lot? I know for a fact that other clubs use it, like the Jeep club and a low rider club.
It's in an industrial area, close to the yellowhead and gas stations, they have on-site security, it's private property so the cops wouldn't be able to hassle you (so long as you aren't wrecking shit on the property), no houses or anything nearby so you could rev you're engines till the cows come home and no body will give a shit..
Oh and 149th is a ghost town after evening rush hour.
Just an idea guys. It would sure beat the hell out of being harassed by the popo everytime you all meet up. Of course you would all have to act like grownups, and police yourselves, like no burn outs or drifting in the parking lots or allowing smacktards to wreck the property, but I bet if someone asked nicely and acted in a professional manner the powers that be would go for it.
Oh FYI: WEM has it's own Police station AND cells just so you know, really dumb place to go for a car meet. They have like a bajillion camera's there and always people milling about, it's no wonder you get hassled by the cops there.

The last time we were pulled over on 97st after going on a cruise from the Canadian Tire parking lot, Wookey and myself inquired upon one of the officers as to the reason we were being targetted. The reply we recieved from the officer was, "If you guys are cruising around 97st with more than a couple cars, we WILL pull you over and harass you."
Thats exactly the reason why we don't go down there anymore. And given the amount of cars used in dangerous maneuvers to pull us over the first time, I want to avoid that type of situation altogether.
We are NOT going to be using the CT Parking lot on 97st but I am considering using Northside Common or other similar alternatives.
I think we're also going to have to consider not cruising as a massive group in order to keep the idiocy down. |

You're telling me, what I am going, or not going to do? I know you've been around WAYYY longer than me, but don't TELL ME what's going to happen, Matt I respect you as well as all the people who've come before me - just discuss it with me then I don't feel so slighted.
I think it's a little rediculous to base a decision on what happened "one time on the northside" because who's to say those same officers are still positioned at the same branch? Who's to say they're even still on the force?
I've said it, time and time again, if there's nothing illegal done to your vehicle - tinted front windows or huge mufflers, etc etc etc... And if you chose to drive like an adult (and I know you do 99% of the time, I mean "You" in general refering to everyone) then there's no reason the police should hassle you.
So what if you get pulled over? Be polite and courteous, and if your insurance is and registration is up to date, and everything else... Then there's no reason to worry.
IF a cop decides to jump a fucking curb and slam into your car, sue his ass.
I don't see what the big deal is. |
