| I was wondering if you can ship a car such as a FD rx-7 right across the border from USA without it getting held at the border and needing thousands of dollars in paper work and such. I was also wondering if any of you guys have an pages with shipping estimates of cars? |

TypeK, what are you planning on buying out of the states?! I hope you're not looking for an fd or z32 or supra tt unless you have a good budget... cause they're expensive to start with and *if* something broke on them, they're very very expensive to fix....
I thought you mentioned possible getting a turbo talon at one point and I know you can find those here and I don't think there's much of a diff between that and it's sister model eclipse????
Surely something from the US can be found here and save you the time and hassel... out east or out west? |

here are the fees that you might possibly encounter.
Import Charges
Duty may apply to the vehicle - possible 6.1% duty
GST will be collected at the time of import - 7%
Excise Tax applies if there is air conditioning in the vehicle - $100.00
PST will be collected at the time the vehicle is insured
HST will be collected if applicable in that province.
RIV fees of $192.00 will be collected at time of import

so for example. if you bought a car for$15000u.s
add on 6.1% = $915.00
add on 7% = $1050.00
excise tax for AC = $100
plus PST which is another 7% = $1050
and possibly HST(whatever that is)
RIV fees of 192.00
in total extras on top of the payment for your car(not including transportation of getting it up here) =$3307
$18307 U.S which is around $23-25000 can |

| I bought my car in California. It was quite easy to import if you are orgainized. There is no PST or HST and if the car was manufactured anywhere other than the US or Canada thre will be the 6.1 duty. I got a company by the name of AAA auto transport to Ship it from ORange county to the Van boarder for 900 USD. Message me if you need some more info |

| yah, i was just thinking out out options of getting an FD of the coming year or so. I was just thinking if you were able to get cheap shipping it might be cheaper but i knew of duty but i think its is probaly just smarter to get a vancouver car or something. No need to go to the states to get a turbo talon heh :P |
