Pretty good turnout today, and I think I ended up with more hot dogs than I brought. Kind of a gong show for parking so we ended up in the first big lot. We were there till 8...

As much as i love these meets i feel like a fucking loser.. the second i pull up its like everyone is looking at my car makeing fun outa it.. haha i hate it.. i love the cruises thats my favorite time..
i guess it cause im new i feel like this.. i know no one except for sanjay and darren at these meets how long does it usually take for everyone to warm up to these kinda things..? |

Thanks Mike for the burgers, the other dude for the hot dogs I nazied out over the ketchup, Shawn for the chips and pop. The little BBQ is handy shit, or we'd have to wait for a Chinese family of 12 to be done with a fire thingy before we could cook.
Folding chairs are dirt cheap at Crappy Tire (less than $10), so everyone should just get one. Cuz I know the first thing Matt would do is kick Ryan out of his chair and steal it for the day. :p
I need four more heat cycles on my brakes before I can start breaking them in, so if we could actually cruise today and tomorrow and every day this week, that'd help lots!

Hmmm ... are you the guy, a few weeks ago, got all mad that you couldn't keep up with the mini turning onto Henday from Calgary Trail, then did a ricer flyby at the earliest possible moment, followed by a brakecheck in front of the mini?
When a mini doesn't let you in front of it, it's because it knows you can't possibly corner as fast, and you ain't gonna slow it down.
I'm not sure if that was you, but there's only one Lexus Soarer I know of ... anyways if it was, in future, don't get all pissed off when someone doesn't let you ahead of them. It happens often, for various reasons. If someone pisses you off, just talk to them at the next stop. |

(not lack of experience in driving by any means but in the fact that the nicest cars ive cruied around has been P.O.S's compared to what ive experienced from the 780 meets.. and the mentality is different.. not everyone wants to race and shit - and im used to civics and what not pulling beside me then thinking that they can drop a gear and gun it .. soo for shitss and giggles i punch it)

It goes to anyone at the meets - if someone pisses you off, let them know. I've been sandblasted a few times, but at the next stop I just went up to the driver and said "hey, thanks for the sandblasting." They always feel really bad and are super apologetic about it, and then I'm not mad anymore.
As for the mini being a fast mini - thank John Cooper Works for that! There was one guy at Apex with a mini, not JCW, but he had nitrous, and the purge valves came out of the side markers (pretty cool) but I don't know how fast it is. As for me, the only mod I've had done there is a rear anti-sway bar.

remember this when you go to pass someone on the shoulder /untraveled part of a merge lane. I'm leaving the shit bumper on the 300 for a couple weeks because of what I've seen at a few meets. (and the aftermath on CF Hoods, Brand new Paint, Intercoolers, and Windows)

All i am asking is for people to be a little observant. It's not worth it to get the the front of the pack If it means you are ruining someone elses car in the meantime.

the way it seems to me is that some of the new people that are showin up are bein very inconsiderate to the "regulars" who have been here a fair amount of time.
Cars are expensive, and so is a paint job. And unless u are willing to pay for a new red paint job on a certain red n-sex(thnx rob, its catchy) or a white STi with carbon parts, I'd suggest either smarten the fuck up and drive with caution and consideration, or just don't show up at all cause u will more than likely be asked to leave.

The same shit happened to me about a month ago. Some douche bag in a black BMW 323 was on my ass coming down 50th Street. I was in the right lane and some other car was in the left lane.
I was going 60 in a 60 zone and apparently that wasn't fast enough for the bimmer. He couldnt pass, because both me and the car beside me were doing the speed limit.
After having him tail gate me for a few blocks, I decided to speed up a bit so he could pass me in the left lane. He instantly passes me in the left lane...but then IMMEDITLY cuts back into the right lane, right in front of me. This caused rocks to fly everywhere and one big rock came up and smashed the windsheild on my Benz.
At the next light, I pulled up next to him and gave him shit. He was like.."oh, im really sorry, I didnt mean it, etc etc" I wanted to pound the shit out of him, but in all fairness, what could have I really done? Beating some guy up and risking getting charged isnt going to fix my windseild.

In all fairness, I explained to you exactly what we were doing, checking the bolt size on the clamp that connected the second muffler to the first muffler.
I've had my truck almost 3 years know, and I've done almost every small mod to it I can without throwing some serious money into it, and I was trying to help you out.
Removing the second muffler will increase your mileage approximately 1MPG, because of the reduction in restrictive exhaust system, not only that but it will sound a hell of a lot better, it takes about 10 seconds to losen the bolt and another 20 seconds to wriggle the thing free from the rubber hangers...
Had the right tools been available, you would have seen/heard the difference for yourself, and if you didn't feel like leaving it removed - would have taken another 30 seconds to put it back on.
When I first explained to you what was going on, you told me it was your dads truck, and he didn't care because he was probably trading it in.
I thought you understand what the fuck I was talking about, but obviously that's not the case, we're all here to help eachother man - and if you're afraid to let someone else touch your ride (or your daddys) then maybe you shouldn't come out. |

I didn't realize his car was stolen, and I also thought there was a certain amount of trust between people who show up to these things, how much of a big deal is it to undo 1 bolt?

That's the goddamn problem with this place, everybody makes everybody elses business public.
It was his vehicle, or his dads whatever, so he could have easily come over and said - "Hey I didn't realize you meant you wanted to do this right now, I don't really give enough of a fuck about my dads truck, leave it alone."
But that's not what happened.
