So your options are a local car with "higher" milage that's been taken care of very well and has had everything done to it to keep it running in mint condition or a JDM car with lower milage that's been idling in traffic for most of it's life. |

I love how people try to discount JDM's credibility, when it's hands down better than any local vehicle. My guess is that most people are upset over the fact that they were stupid enough to pay nearly twice as much for a USDM car that is in worse condition than their neighbour who's showing them up with a cheaper car.
Speed limiters, speed chimes, periodic inspections with replacement of any slightly defective part, low KMs, low price, better quality parts and many other reasons show that JDM is actually quite superior to USDM. They take pride in their cars, and you can see that in the aftermarket parts they use (you will never see a Joe Schmoe ebay part on a JDM vehicle, they only use brand name high quality parts).
And wtf at trying to reason that a car that has been idleing it's entire life is worse than a car that's been revved and driven the shit out of? That's just retarded.
Plus, the only people I've ever heard say that JDM is worse than USDM are people that own USDM cars. So stop being so angry and jealous that my less expensive car is better than yours.
I'm glad that the 18 year old kid down the block can resell his JDM for more than your USDM, because he is smarter than you. |

I doubt that my car is worse than the jdm counterpart. I definetly ain't jealous that the jdm cars are cheaper nor do I care. The only person that wants to buy and will buy jdm cars are kids because they can' t afford the local cars. Guys that have money will never look at rhd out of country cars to buy. But if you can sell your jdm car for more money than the local car then more the power to you.

The only people I've ever heard say that JDM is better than USDM are some people that own JDM cars.:rolleyes: and who's angry, you're the one that seems really defensive. I could careless that you bought your car for less money. A JDM car will never sell for more money than a USDM car of the same trim level because THEY CAN'T GET MORE FOR IT. I have yet to see a better condition JDM 300ZX than my CaDM 300ZX, not saying that there isn't any out there but I haven't seen one yet.

It looks like this is something that someone added on as a fix after all of the other work was done. Obviously it's someone without significant mechanical experience. When the car gets here that pipe will come off and have correct nipples welded on.
As for the hose, it does the job in a warmer climate, but it wouldn't last in Edmonton. They use clear stuff so you can see if anything is working its way through the lines. My Megan catch can for my AE86 came with the same stuff, I just swapped in a chunk of heavier rubber line.
But to the guy who says everyone in Japan always puts the best on their cars, you're living in a dream world. There are just as many cheap guys over there that don't know what they're doing as over here. I have seen bad examples of JDM cars and good examples. You have to be careful no matter where you're buying. |
