Well, the cat was let out of the bag yesterday, but the car is secured now so I'm not worried about the seller backing out like the last one.
Without further delay, my new Aristo. She's a bit dirty sitting at the exporters in these bigger shots, but the paint is pretty damn good on it.

Those are 275s stretched on the back. :D

All shined up.

Man, I can't wait to get a car that has everything. I've almost always owned cars with fairly minimum options. Since this will be a daily driver I wanted air, tilt, cruise and power everything. This has all that plus airbags, ABS, traction control, keyless entry, a decent-sized TDO7 turbo, Tein coilovers, etc.
Should be a fun car. |

Import Concern is importing it for me, yes. I've had my eye on it for months though.
Haha, now looking at the wheels on Ryan's pic thread I can see they are the same. Crazy. |

The more I look at it the less I'm sure that's a TD07-25g. The housing is too squared off to be one, unless there were different versions out there?
Anyone else recognize what turbo this is?

What type of engine management does it have? Is it an automatic transmission? |

hahahahaha yea i let the cat outa the bag for matt
i was working car audio gone wild, and snuck up on matt when he was looking at HID's and heard the guy say "what year is your gs300???" and instantly i knew it was a FUCKING ARISTO that he was getting, after saying his new car will be a secret. haha
VERY VERY VERY VERY NICE CAR!!, way better than either of my cars!
and good thing my wheels didn't fit mine, wouldn't wanna have the same wheels haha |

Hahaha, probably not. Well I have been coming out the the meets, but just after I finish work at midnight.
Gotta pay those dues.
Ummm, for whoever asked, the car is on E-Manage and no that's not garden hose, it's that even cheaper shit that they provide with catch-can kits. Yes that looks like JB Weld as well, or something similar. It's a little surprising to see that there since so much of the car is done in show car fashion.
Yes it is auto, which I really don't mind since I'll be driving the car a lot and it's really only meant to be comfortable. The clutch needed to hold 500+hp would hardly be comfortable for daily driving.
The Corolla is going to be my race car, I don't need another one. |

Hehehe, just as you asked what car I was getting them for I said don't worry about it, the guy asks what year and you yell out 'YOU FUCKER' and punch me, hehehe. The look on your face was priceless.
Thanks for the compliments guys. Hopefully it drives as good as it looks in these pics. The JB weld job may need to come off and be replaced with some of Glenn's sweet TIG action. |

Looks good, not exactly my thing...these seem to be getting just as popular as Skylines now. But if you like it, thats all that matters!
Those back tires tho..damn dude, thats retarded amount of stretch and could be a safety issue. Plus, imo it looks like ass. Only thing I would change is the tires on the back...needs wider tires.

Maybe a half-dozen in the city? Hardly as popular as Skylines. These don't stand out nearly as much as Skylines either since we've always had the GS300 here.
As for the tires, the stretch isn't nearly as bad as I've seen on some cars, but if I'm able to fit wider rubber without rubbing I will likely do so when buying new stuff down the road. |

Hehe, you had told me 23a at the drift practice. I searched and couldn't find anything on that.
Even still, the 25a or g refers to the turbine, not the compressor. I guess there were just different compressor housings. I've found a few other versions of them out there as well. Maybe it's a completely different Greddy/Trust housing?:dunno: |

no its a total Mitsubishi turbo as Greddy did not make a TD07 , I have seen this turbo on a couple of cars in japan but not so many here as TD05/TD06 are a bit more common. it could be a TD07 with a TD08 compressor to make a t78
It could be a couple of trims at that size and possibly a Vband hot side or else a 4 bolt flange so we will have to wait and see |
|
|
| ChromeDragon |
I've never seen a squared-off "T78" compressor housing, but the regular TD08s are, so unless it's a hybrid not made by Greddy/Trust? Oh well, so long as it can make some decent power I'll be plenty happy.
I've seen some conflicting numbers on air flow as well. One said 800cfm, another said 1,100?
Like you said though, just wait and see. |

Hahaha, the Corolla is becoming more and more cramped with the full racing seat and a roll cage, so I want something comfy for a daily driver. |

Flat black on the cans should help avoid that. |

I would just replace them. Huge cannons like that don't look good on any car imo, especially a luxury car. And I still don't get why people like the look of rubber stretched so much. It looks ridiculous too. Reminds me of another one posted a while ago....looks better stock with just a nice lowering and 'normal' sized wheels.
That said, I love those cars and with that motor it will definitely be a sweet daily driver. |

| That's another possibility. I'm not a huge fan of the rice cannons, but we'll see how I feel about the look when the car gets here. I might just stick a couple of nice high-flow Magnaflows in the stock spots and run 3" to the back. |

This car will not be drifted, ever.
There were a few delays, but it's in Edmonton now. I just got back after driving all night from Van and I'm sitting at work right now fighting to keep my eyes open.
If anyone knows how to tune Greddy eManage blue, please let me know. This thing isn't running anywhere near as well as it could be. Whoever set up the timing map should be kicked in the esophagus! |
|
|
| InitialD |
| hey, try to talk to scott, he has a friend derek, he is specialized in emanage, plus its simple one to tune. |
|
|
| Altezza |
| Very sexy car   good choice on a daily driver |
|
|
| ChromeDragon |
Ze bitch has arrived. She needs a tune pretty badly, not just for our fuel, but in general. Whoever tuned it in Japan was on crack. I think the timing is retarded to levels before TDC. There is no power whatsoever below 4,000 rpm, to the point that it's annoying to drive in the city it's so slow. But when the boost hits around 4,000 rpm, even 7psi is pretty crazy. That is when it isn't misfiring.
I'm starting to wonder if the Greddy Profec S boost controller has something to do with the car making no power at all below 4,000. I might directly connect the wastegate to see if it pulls normally just on the spring.
So yeah, plugs are next, then on the dyno to tune it for 91 octane. I just hope to find someone pretty competent with eManage blue.
And of course, some pics. The tape was just to avoid rock chips.

275s stretched onto 18x12s? Oh yes. Little tip though, don't put 70+psi in your tires, tends to make them want to separate and make crazy huge annoying bumps that shake your car like crazy. No I didn't put that much pressure, but when we picked up the car it was topping out a 60psi tire gauge ... by a lot.

There wasn't a boost gauge in the car when we picked it up, and since I haven't yet decided how I want to mount the gauges ... well I improvised with an Autometer unit that we ran around to a couple different Lordcos in White Rock to find.

u dont make sense mister, those tires are a must to fit under those flares, otherwise everytime he hits a bump he'll be rubbing. obviously u never had a vip car. |

| Stretched tires are an acquired taste. Some people like them, others don't. The amount of stretch on these is actually a bit aggravating for me. If I'm able to fit 305s under the fenders I will be going with those next time around. |

Doesn't matter whether or not you have had one. Some people think stretched wheels look like shit and so do most 'vip' cars.
I am a huge fan of the car, but not of the wheels. Some other guy here posted pics of his aristo first with stretched tires and then with 'normal' ones and it looked a million times better after imo.
Then again I was bashed that time for knocking the stetched tires even though he changed them in the end. lol |
