Perilous_Enterprises
Dam man.. I had some crappy luck too today.. :( I never got to check out your car, I wanted too, but we had a lot of other jobs on the go.. besides, probly take a while to get you an oil pan.. :( (if you didn't know, I work at midas)

But don't worry, we'll have it rollin in no time.. ;)

Anyhoo, go to the Strathcona County building (old library, across from Sal) and file your complaint there.. I doubt they'll do anything for you except say, oops, we're sorry.. but hey.. thats about all you can do.. as far as I know anyway.. The department is upstaris on the north west end..
Goodluck.. ;)

ouch dude that sucks unfortunately I don't think it's the cities fault for it being there but it's possible.. not my expertise BUT it could be a failure to maintain public roads and they might.. MIGHT be liable for everything you lost, try it..

BLK_LBL
shitty deal. There were tracks from the street sweepers there when we drove by. Ive seen the street sweepers sitting there a few times, it could have gotten caught up in one, and then fell off right in the middle of the road.

I hope theres no damage on connors car, we hit the same chunk like 10 mins after you did, hah

redbaron303
That blows hardcore man. Hopefully your municipality will resolve this for you... if not, go cut down all the street signs.... ;)

Such bullshit...

I ran over a toilet last week or something, but it didn't break anythign thank god!

I think you should give me your itr and drive your big truck around, that way you'll have no more problems :(

goodluck in resolving this bs, you hsouldn't have to pay for someone elses mistakes :(

REDX2NV
Yea when i talked to the edmonton claims department they had no problem at all with it, other than the fact it wasnt in edmonton...Sherwood Park for example will likely be more assholes about it... If they are im going to take that chunk a concrete and smash the mayors balls with it

midnite
i remember hearing about someone who drove over a manhole, and it caught their new exhaust system and ripped it clean off. the city offered to pay because the manhole was to high from the road.

i don't know about chucks of concrete. the county could say anyone put it on the road...

1:20 pm--> Go to southside honda for possible oilpan, asked for a B16B and he had no clue what i was talking about..

1) I feel your pain man, hope things work out & get legal on that concrete!!!
2) maybe this was a typo, but your engine is 1.8L no?? that would make B18 and I also believe the engine code to be B18C

*shrug*

not important really...just curious

g/l Greg!!!

hah thanks man, were you at bp's tonight? i think i saw you there with your buddy in his rx7(the white on with black hood)...

anyways a B16B oilpan shares the same baffle as the B18C, the part numbers are the same for the two(according to the spoon catalog haha).. but the b16a doesnt have the baffle..

sorry about your luck, the county should pay for it and they tend to be fairly reasonable as long as you don't try to be a dick about the whole situation.

BlueTurboEGG
Geez, that's life in E-Town man.

I had a similar incident, a manhole cover was jutting out of the road and hte ashpalt (sp?) around it sunk, couldn't go around it and I didn't see the dip because of the angle of the sun... CRACK!!!!...

Major dent in the oil pan, but I didn't realize this until later when I sun a crank bearing <CLACK!><CLACK!><CLACK!><CLACK!> :(

Nothing the municipal governing bodies would do.

98Luder
That oil pan for 8000bucks is the special one with the brace within it (that allows you to rev up to 11K rpm without blowing the engine from vibration).
the regular one that was modified was cheaper rember?

Rough days, you and me both man :(

98Luder
be careful driving it around Greg, i was most concerned you damaged your oil pickup too. If that's damaged and oil can't suck up....you could be in trouble, or if the pan is pushed and oil is not going to the pickup. Just be careful with that man.

REDX2NV
Yea the pan is coming off monday, we will check the prickup then....I hope its good :fingersx:

Oh yea spoon=$$$$$$ ahah..

BLK_LBL
Hey greg I tried callin you today, Theres a PS2 game at my work... the price is messed up in the system, so its selling for $17 staff purchase
