I don't know if we had a thread about this a few months ago but the shitty search function here won't let me search for "car and driver"
Anyway, have you noticed the shitty new layout in the magazine? I did and wrote this to them.
"As a very loyal reader for the last 12 years I have to
tell you I'm very disappointed in the redesign.
Spencer Olineks' letter in the march issue was spot-on
about someone replacing his issue with 5 year old copy
of Motor Trend.
Putting concept cars on the cover is the reason I
stopped reading MT a LONG time ago. Nobody cares
about concept/show cars unless they are actually
headed for production. Until then they should stay as
a small blurb in the Up Front section.
The headers suck. The Highs/Lows/Verdict layered onto
a picture of the car sucks. The stats layout sucks.
The online junk sucks. The whole magazine looks just
as cluttered as your website now.
There was nothing wrong with the old C&D. You have
turned the magazine into BMW's iDrive. You'll keep
telling us how great the new layout is, and the people
will continue to bitch and moan about the changes.
Please don't make me switch to Automobile or Road and
Track. Ugh.

| I love how everyone complains. It's true though. Nowadays if I'm going to buy a car magazine, I'll grab R+T or Grassroots. I hate paying six dollars for a magazine and it just being a huge plug for their website. |

I gave up in R&T years ago, now I'm getting fed up with C&D. While some aspects of their re-design are decent, as a whole it's pretty fucked up.
The only other mag I tend to buy on a regular basis is SCC, but for some reason I'm having a tough time finding it lately. Did they do in the shitter or something?:dunno: |

| I too am a long time reader of C&D, and am getting very disappointed in it lately as well. The article that really pisses me off is their last truck shoot out. That was such a poorly writen article, it wasn't even funny. They also left out some very important facts, like the Chev has a 5 second delay before it gives you full power, and they didn't even mention that it only has a 4-speed :mad: |

I bought it a few times and liked it, but for some reason I've never made the effort to go to Chapters to pick it up.
I should get some subscriptions going here actually. |
