I have a confession to make. - Click HERE for Original Thread

Uglyoldnissan
I've owned my car for just about a year now and have only driven it once. I've shown you folks shiny pictures of it but those were taken by the guy who had it imported. *sigh*

So here are some pics of me finally breaking the beast out of it's parking spot (where it sat for damn near two years) and giving it a good wash. Behold my crusty 83 Nissan.

I should be driving it by June. (Wish me luck).

Godzilla
wowie, i've only ever seen one in Japan before, bring it out a time or two this summer for sure.

Flip
With the quality of the first pic combined with your outfit, looks like it might've been taken when the car was new.

:D

bapestaaa
i dont think they had portable pressure washers when that car was new

mx73someday
Is that the one Bora used to own?

2forgo

DR30 Skyline.

Blackcrx
ah thanks glen I was thinking it was a skyline :)

300zxhunter
never seen one of those before thats the generation skyline before they brought the GT-R back into production right?

ChromeDragon
Sort of. There were plenty of performance models that just didn't happen to have the GT-R moniker. This particular car has a ridiculously huge turbo on it if I recall correctly.

Uglyoldnissan
Yeah, it's a 83 Skyline RS2000. And yeah the turbo is pretty big. Trust td07s-25g.

Sadly this car is kicking my ass right now. It runs poorly and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I thought it was a dead fuel injector at first but now it's making me think otherwise. Any Nissan techs out there willing to work beer? :(

Also, if I do break down and take it into a shop which one would you folks recommend? Thanks.

PS: and yeah it's the car Bora used to own.

InitialD
this car is FACKING PIMP!!!!

sounds soooo freaking sex, let me know ifu want to sell it.

How did you manage to end up with that car?

Strangely enough I was just looking on NECC for an engine to swap into my S12 turbo, specifically an FJ20. Bora contacted me and said he had an FJ that needed work but was still in a car. "What kind of car?" I says. "83 Skyline" he says. I was a little apprehensive at first (Not knowing anything about the dr30 at the time) but the first time I saw it I fell in love and told him I would buy it. The rest is history, so to speak.

On a side note I didn't have all the money and had to give Bora payments every month (I missed a couple) and he was great about it all the whole time. Really good guy to buy a car from.

300zxhunter
amazing what a steal...how much does a car like that one cost

too.forty
very clean skyline, sure kept good care of the body, hopefully you can find out the issue with it running properly :)

SiRiUSeclipse
looks like it's in great condition! Can't wait to see it in motion!

ShiftyTheKid

TyPhOOnSliPPerY
I dont think anyone in town "knows what they are talking about" in regarding to a DR30 Skyline and FJ20DET engine in town here. But a car is a car and all have the similar working parts

Believe it or not th guys who runs Silverstone motorsports on 99th used to own and race one back in Japan and knows all about them. Sadly I hear he charges an arm and a leg for anything. Hopefully I can get some help figuring out what's wrong and not spend every dime I have to do it.

Oh and here's some pics. I think these were actually taken by typhoon but they are the only nice pictures I have until I get the clearcoat fixed.
