Hey guys. As thread says I am looking at buying an RX7 sometime in the next 3-4 months. What is a good price for a 7 that runs, is street legal, less then 150k on the engin, minimal rust in non-critical areas, frame cannot be bent and the seals should be in good condition. Must pass inspection. As stock as possible I have plans. I do not mind a Turbo but nothing too extream. I would prefer a FD rather then a FC but again im not too picky.

| im looking at spending about 4-6 grand. LHD is nice on the highways here, but RHD makes it more of a RX-7 :p . Thanks I will look at those sites. |

Thats not true at all. jdmtalon is selling a 87 FC that has a fresh rebuild and runs. He only wants $2900 for the car.

My suggestion is to just look around on Forums and on the AutoTrader. For 5k, you will only be able to get a FC, actually...even at 10k FD's will not be found. (Unless you want a gay RHD from Japan with god knows how many problems it will have)
I'm pretty sure Wookey bought one from Japan and it arrived with a nice blown motor. RX7's are notorious for blowing up anyways...so I would want to see and drive one before I handed over my hard earned money. Also, rotaries are not cheap to fix....so keep that in mind too.

That's why if I were going to buy another RHD car I'd do it the same way I did now, pick it up from one of the import companies stock. That way there's no pressure to buy it if it's a turd. |

Thats the smart thing to do. Sure you may pay a little more, but at least you know what youre getting.

Sounds bout right. Mine was blown which was actually kinda nice. Was all the more reason to tear it apart, rebuild it and do everything the way i wanted. haha |

| Mazda discontinued production of the rx-7 because of warranty claims. It's honestly a great car.. if you know what your're doing... if you have to make threads like this.. an rx-7 is not for you. Also the FC rx-7 is rather cheap if it blows up.. just pick up another jdm motor from jdmsource. |

| go with an s14 they look just as good(imo) can make just as much power, without the reliability issues. Even better a e30 to e36 325/8is bmw is a great platform to work on. even the 4 door versions are loads of fun. plus insurance will be cheaper than on the RX7. |

MX-6 = Probe.
What makes it worse is that the MX-6 would be a sweet car is it wasn't for the FWD and the pig Ford engine.
Looks-wise, it's attractive, but in reality my Taurus could beat it. |
