actually i have been to a sunday night cruise in winnipeg. there was a pretty big turnout from what i remember, mostly old classics tho, not too many tuner cars.
it was at from corner of portage and main to the train station i believe... and apparently there are a few streets around that are commonly used to drag race, but we didnt end up over there. |

| it's been a couplea years, but the cops in peg were such pigs they outright harassed me just for driving down the street on legitimate business, totally profiling me because i was driving my stock-looking EK with rims-totally fucked up my evening taking some ladies to supper |

Hi 300zxhunter,
I visit the Peg once a year in July. I have had the opprotunity to visit the Cruise night on more than one occasion. The Edmonton and even Alberta scene has nothing compared to cruise night. For those who have not been, I reccomend you go.
I believe it starts off at the pony Coral. I know my dad has talked about it when he was younger. It is something that has been going on for years. I do not recall what streets it stretches accross. However it is massive and alot of fun to watch.
+1 For Cruise night, especially on Sundays!

I used live there. If you aren't out to Cruise on sunday night, don't leave home 'cause the streets are insane.
I remember there was a span of about a month where the WPS went out with their bike patrol and gave out seatbelt fines. Traffic didn't move so they just went from car to car and issued citations to whoever wasn't wearing a seatbelt. They did something stupid like 500 tickets the first week, numbers dwindled every week after that though. Guess word got out.
The nice thing about cruise night in Winnipeg is there's something for everyone. Imports and domestics are both well presented. As are the different generations. I used to hang out at the Burger Factory since a buddy I went through Basic with owned it, and it wasn't uncommon to see a Mitsu 3000GT with lambo doors and coloured strobe lights inside parked next to a mint 57 Chevy with an 84 Camaro next to it or some such. Wide variety, everyone friendly and getting along.....it was a nice scene.
There's a lot of nice things about Winnipeg, cruise night was one of them unless you had to get somewhere downtown. |

There is one by the VIA station. Same chain. Best fries in Canada according to CBC 4 years in a row. After weekend exercises we used to head over with George who'd give us all we could eat fries and burgers on the house. It's a deal we worked out after I dragged him to the range with my old man and I and coached him so passed his marksmanship. I'd never seen a guy so flinchy. Could not squeeze for the live of him. It was like he was firing a shotgun everytime and it took us 2000 rounds to coach it out of him. |

| i loved car shows in winnipeg, and the cruise nights are crazy there. i also remember going out to brady road, which was like a scene out of fast and the furious, hundreds of people gathered to watch cars drive side by side down a mile long strtch of fresh paved road that went to the dump. by far my best experience with car gatherings. |

its been happening for decades and i dont think that it will be anywhere near stopping...its one of the wonders of canada, a trip that you have to take...either that or come and see how its done and organize to in edmonton...it'll take a while to start up but it is better then any meet that you have ever been at.
But for the sake of you money...do put on your seatbelts |
