| is there somewhere i can buy a used bench press, bar, and weights? how much would it cost? how much would new ones cost? looking at about 160 pounds of weight needed before the added weight of the bar. |

Yup.
Though if you go to Fitness Depot, it's pretty darn cheap to get a 300lb olympic set incl. bar.
I forget the exact amount, been a few years since I got mine from there but I do remember that the price of a used set from All Sport was pretty much the same as a new set from Fitness Depot. |

Some of the stuff at ASR is ok, some is way overpriced IMO.
You can make offers for items at the counter as well, as long as it's within reason, they'll most likely take it. |

| The best place I found was the Bargain Finder (buysell.com). I found ASR much too expensive in comparison. The downside is, when you want something out of the Bargain Finder you generally have to watch and wait. |

You can swing by my store, Fitness Town.
I'll get you a bench, bar, weights, all brand new for a couple hundred bucks, around $300 if you want a regular size bench, or around $400 if you want an Olympic width. |

What I have in mind is a Nautilus bench we have (brand new) for $199.00 and then $100.00 of weights w/bar. Brings you to about $300 for the whole thing. Its a regular width bench, but the same style bench anywhere else (of good quality) is usually about $250-300 for the bench alone - before you add the weights.
