| I've always been more of a need for speed fan than a forza fan. I was going to buy forza but I think I'll get this instead. |

I think that date is for more info and not the official release date. The last few NFS have been released in Oct/Nov.
Looks ok but I hope they have better customizing. |

| im going to be all over this game, looks awesome. I think that the damage was just for the video. Maybe it will but wont look as good on ps2. Ps3 it will look better i am sure. |

| i reaaaaaly hope that the realistic damage is part of the game. i hate when you crash a car in a game and it just bounces off the 'walls'. |
|
|
| fugumerkur |
cars do that in real life, your just not hitting real walls properly.
You can win races by riding walls too. I learned that in Gran turismo!
Sometimes on Groat rd I just bounce off other peoples cars to pass and I make it to the top first, then I go to mc donalds for a Happy meal.:blue: |

I have been waiting for a very long time for EA to make another Need For Speed that has damage and realistic controls like Porsche did. It seemed like everybody hated the realism and just wanted to bounce off the walls like arcade games. :dunno:
I look forward to seeing more about this. |

my friend in Vancouver is a game tester for EA.. he says (without being bias because he actually hates his job) that he likes the new NFS better than Forza 2..

| I read an article (maybe Wikipedia?) that the creators wanted it to be more realistic. So damage will be a major factor, which is fine. But I also heard they wanted it to be more like a simulator, which sucks. Sometimes you don't want to deal with physics and you just want something to shut your brain off. Driver and NFS were wicked for that. I dunno what I'll have for arcade-style driving if they make NFS more GT-like. |

I agree.
NFS and "simualtion" don't mix. How the hell would you get away from the cops once they pull out the Road Blocks?? |

Are you kidding? Most of the car-racing games out there on PC or consoles are arcade-based in that you can bounce off other cars and guardrails like a pinball. If you want to shut your brain off, buy pretty much any car game on the market. Games like NFS 1 and 2 were awesome because they tried to be more realistic about the cars individual handling characteristics. Understeer and oversteer were factored into each car and in different ways, and made for a great new level of gaming.
NFS Porsche was the best game EA ever made (in my opinion, of course), and it was semi-realistic with damage and everything, the only drawback was that you could only drive Porsches, and nothing else.
If they were to make a new version of that gaming engine, with updated graphics and a choice of different manufacturers' vehicles, much like Gran Turismo or Forza, I would buy it. |

No, I'm not. NFS is more arcade-like than most of the stuff I've played. Test Drive, Gran Turismo, NASCAR. I don't really touch much else in terms of driving games, so maybe my experience is limited, but I hope they fail and keep things the way they are. |

I agree.. That gaming engine was very well done. That game was more of a simulation.......... The oversteer/understeer, acceleration, braking were quite accurate. |
