I have up for sale one of my most prized possessions, an Alpine CDA-7897 mp3 deck. This is a rare and very high end deck from 2002, back when Alpine decks were still made with topnotch components and with lots of adjustability. However, I bought this new a couple years ago. Any car audio enthusiast can tell you that Alpine's best gear came from that time. If you are demanding the best gear for a reasonable price, or if you just want a good deck that has a great anti-theft feature, this is the deck for you.
This deck originally retailed for $1200. It has FantomFaceXL, an overmotorized 1.5 DIN faceplate that slides in and hides itself whenever you turn the car off, so you don't have to mess with carrying around detachable faceplates. It has great sound quality owing to features like:
-digital 6 channel time correction
-3 pairs of true 4V preouts
-2way and 3way active crossovers, adjustable in 1/3 octave steps and adjustable slope from 0 to -24 dB/octave
-5 band parametric EQ with Q adjustment
-regulated 1-bit DAC
Other nice features:
-mp3 CD capable
-remote
-AI-NET compatible for iPod or XM radio hookup
-Nokia phone interface
-subwoofer control
-Black out display
-3 position motorized faceplate

As I said, this deck originally retailed for $1200 and even to this day, discount websites sell it for around $550, so it's a rare and sought after deck. Mine is in absolutely mint condition and I am looking for $400. I will consider discounting the price if you can trade me your old deck. | my deck is almost identical to that but I have the organic display. I absolutley love it. once you tune it to your car and speakers it is the best sounding deck I have ever owned. |

Yeah I went with this one because I felt it's display blends in better with many interiors for a clean look. Thanks for the props, this deck does sound amazing, the best I've ever had. |
