Uhh.....aren't you supposed to drive on a learners licence? How else would you learn?

We also have these crazy things called "stickies", they hang out on the top of the page. In one of them, the one that has links to laws, there's also a link to fines for breaking the laws. If you wanna save face since your question doesn't make sense, you can always just look it up yourself.

The question is if foresay, someone was driving on their learners alone (without someone with them) and got pulled over for any reason, what would the ticket be for driving while on your learners without supervision?

Kind of curious to know as well. Technically you're not a licensed driver so you would have no insurance even if the vehicle is insured and registered.
:dunno:

$230 for driving without proper supervision.

Thats not too bad. I'm sure in the case of an accident it would be a different story though(to the insurance company). I thought you would get nailed with driving without insurance, but I guess in most cases the vehicle would be insured. Kind of a loop hole.

It's questionable. The owner of the vehicle could acknowledge giving you permission, thereby voiding the insurance, or they could claim they weren't aware you took it, thereby getting you charged with auto theft.

The owner is the one who has to press those kinds of charges. If it was your parents and they told the police that the driver had no permission to drive the vehicle it is still the parents choice to charge their son/daughter with auto theft.

Who in the right mind would ever charge their children with such a damaging charge? I can only think of one kind. The ones who hate their kids.

Think of it as the kids who hate the parents.

Hence the "questionable" part.

Just so you know, if you were caught driving with an improper class license your vehicle can also be towed. Add the ticket for driving without supervision and any other ones that are applicable...

i drove on my learners alone for a year:dunno:

While on this topic, what is the rule behind this? Say I let my girlfriend drive my car and she crashes, is my insurance still going to cover that?

You insure the vehicle, not the driver. The only problem would be if the insurance company found out you lied on your application and there were more regular drivers, or drivers in your household, than you declared.
