on 104 there's been a van hiding beside the bridge, by 124 across from original joes....... been hiding there the past few days, and I've almost been nailed twice.
Looks mean, hiding in the trees, waiting!

Hey guys,
Just a heads up. I just spotted a Champagne Chev truck taking pictures on 109st North. This was just prior to Whyte Ave.
It stuck out like a sore thumb as it was parked in a lane designated for bus and taxi cabs Mon to Fri and hardly anyone is parked there outside those hours.
Nice to see that new photo buggies come in different makes and models.

| not photo radar but I saw a 95 neon pull over a jeep on highway 216 south just coming off the yellowhead on friday. Early friday morning I got pulled in the same spot by an impala. I seen an impala on the shoulder with his signal on so I slowed so he could come out. then as the shoulder lane opened up going onto the yellowhead I gunned it and the impala I let in front of me was an unmarked. Gave a ticket for 5 over the limit. |

You got a ticket for 5 over? Are you fucking kidding? So much for being in the black. This city must be broke. |

As dumb as we think most people are when driving, it seems that the truth is quite the opposite. People are noticing and learning about speed cameras. They've gotten a ticket or two and have either stopped speeding (the point the Police want to make) or they've learned how and where to spot them.
If you look at the photo radar revenue, it seems like the amount of incoming money is dropping quite a bit. The Edmonton Police have built in photo radar and red light camera earnings into their budget. They can't afford to lose revenue, that is why they are resorting to sneaky tactics to get more money out of people.
Edmonton drivers aren't necessarily the worst drivers in the world, they just seem to be self-centered and self-interested - largely ignoring the safety of others. If it involves paying money, they'll change... and that seems to be happening. Expect more bastard techniques like garbage can cameras, automatic speed lines (metal lines in the road) and ghost cars, and other crazy crap to come. 'Gotta fill that budget, no? How else can Edmonton afford to have the most police chases per capita in Canada (the ability to maintain cars that are bagged when in a chase)? |

| you know what someone should do is take pictures of the vehicle and license plate and post them online for all to see. so that we know what we're looking for. |
