Car Suggestions - Click HERE for Original Thread

Balls
So my parents have agreed to co sign on a car probably about 15-20K(20 is kind of high)

want a new or newer vehicle, good reputation yadda yadda

suggestions???!

Krall
What do you want the car for?

What do you NEED a car for? If you want a toy, for fun, get an import. Cheap, with huge aftermarket, good to toy with.

If you need a transport, that you can have fun with... older BMWs are sexy, and coming down in price ('96-2003s)

If you just need wheels, get a Tiburon, they're gorgeous.

What does that have to do with this guys thread? I simply posted that I have a car for sale that is in his price range. $17.5k is an excellent price for a nice Benz...you can't even buy a new Cobalt for that price.

Wow perfect comparsion acouple supcharged girls cars. Honestly I would never have put the two cars together they do seem to have a few things in commen. But if it was me I wouldn't take either.

Back om topic, how about a used wrx for awd or srt4 or rsx for fwd and rwd there are always domestics or jdm if you wanted to go abit older

Krall
Without sounding Bias, the SRT4 sounds like an awesome idea! My only gripes with it is it can't do a U-Turn with four lanes available! haha.

I wasn't trying to do anything more than prove a point of, "if you get that car, everyone will say you have a girls car." It's a great machine, with great drivability, but you know... so is a Miata.

That's all :)

Thats fine, you are entitled to your own opinion!
I have owned the car since last summer and not once have I heard its a "girls car"

6 Speed Manual
Supercharged
Rear Wheel Drive
LSD
260 KM/H Speedo

I fail to see how this is a girls car.

That Benz is NOT a girls car. A pink civic is a girls car, a purple neon is a girls car but that Benz is not even close to being a girls car.

The Daver
I agree that the benz is not a girls car. Also if you can find a srt-4 for cheaper go for it. I test drove one and I loved it. Unfortunatly the numbers just didnt work for me so I never got it but I would have in a heart beat. They are fast, fun and cheap out of the box and potential to be faster and more fun for cheap. An excellent car to get into the scene with....... imo

NOT a girls car :realmad:

Balls
this is upsetting
i make a thread and then were argueing over if a benz is a girls car
its not my type of car though
im not a fan of the hatchback mercedes

on the other hand
i am looking at golfs...

WorkInProgress
+1 girls car

Seriously though, buy an Aveo or Cobalt or something, maybe a Nissan Versa (but the price is probably up there).

Flamewerkz
BMW FTW! I got nearly 400k on mine, still runs awesome. Never lets me down, just do regular maintenance. Mine's a little older, but for $15k you can get a nice E39 528i.

Thats all you had to say buddy, Im sure we can all leave the Benz alone and move on. There are MANY cars in the price range you are looking at. You said you were looking at Golfs, did you want one thats stock or one thats modified or what?

kornsined
Well since you asked....http://forums.780tuners.com/showthr...;threadid=62349

BTW that Benz is slick. Red though is not my colour.

Dublin_19
i had a golf... it was fast and looked great... those cars are great for dressing up not always for speed but i mean my vr6 did fairly well for speed it wasnt anything amazing but it packed enough punch i loved it. i was never afraid to put money into it and have to be scared that i was putting money into a lemon or the fact that i might be making a ugly car look ok... no i was trying to make a great car look like a head turner

ptemomo
I have a SRT4 for sale. its just over your max price. But if you're interested send me a pm and we can talk.... Its a really nice and fast car. Pretty reliable too

gtaylor
you can buy a solid jetta for about 16 grand
pretty much a golf with 4 doors, if u gotta pay insurence id be cheaper

Balls
i was thinking of a vr6 golf
04ish
you can get a golf in four door too so would that not make insurance the same?

+2 for girls car If it was a four door or at least one of the nice coupes i would agree its not. However, i know several girls who have rich daddys who have bought them that exact benz  Still a very very nice car

As for your car, i vote on a bmw. Something like the 330ci. Very nice and in your price range.

your not going to be able to pick up any 330 for under 20grand
unless you go back mid-nintiees or it has really high mileage

tho_chi
if you were going to get a 4 door golf just get a jetta. Personally i think the 4dr golfs are ugly... The 2dr's on the other hand are sweet guys, a lot of potential

Fazda
how about an audi a4 or s4, refined luxury and packs a punch.

tho_chi
have you had troubles with your audi??
where do you take it for service?

Fazda
i have had nothing to complain about. It absolutly amazing to drive in the winter, i take it to the southside audi dealership for service. I love it. I would definetly reccomend taking one for a test drive u wont be disapointed. Awesome Bose stereo plush leather. And they are built incredibly solid. you can find a decent s4 one for around 20,000$ and a nice A4 for about 15,000, or u could buy mine for 25,000, just recenetly got some work done.

tho_chi
wow im surprised your still at southgate audi.. my parents had an A8L and A6 and got rid of both due to service.. they are great cars and nothins better in winter though, i have to agree with that.. I was looking at an A4 for myself but im still unsure

Fazda
i haven't had any issues with southgate audi yet, i have heard some bad things about service there so far, but i have yet to have any issues.

tho_chi
all the better. They are great cars, especially the S4

I'd like you to find me a mid 90s 330i. They were actually called m3s back then;) You could find a solid mk3 jetta or golf vr6 for under 10, or even a corrado if one is around. Mk4 gtis are going for around 13k+ right now, which would be plenty fast and they look pretty cool. Fairly reliable too. Look at e36 bmws too, 15k coild get you a nice 328i

dwarfy123
If I had 20k to spend on a car, it would be either like a 97-99 E39 540i/6 speed, or a 95-99 E36 M3. I recommend looking into both of those cars, they have won a nice collection of awards and recomendations.

newred
What about this car

http://forums.780tuners.com/showthr...;threadid=62643

Balls
wow
thanks for all the input
the audi sounds like a good idea too
i love german cars
but at the same time
im considering stickin with the vehicle i have and saving and going to germany in like 8-10 months
i wouldnt really be able to save that much that fast

but im still in the consideration stage

p.s.
i'd be able to get an M3?
is that what you guys were saying
cause that would be awesome too

b18c5crx
i know a guy selling a k20 90's civic for a bit less then your ammount.

dwarfy123
Ya, for 20k, you could get a clean M3 from the states.

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/foru...ad.php?t=776903

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/foru...ad.php?t=723121

just to list a few.

Fazda
the leather on the bolster is fucked on the other one, that is something i always look at when i buy leather.

lowslowcorrado
You can afford an m3, but can you afford to maintain it? There is no point in stretching every penny to buy the car. Shit breaks. M3 stands for.... all parts prices, Multiply by 3. Its nice to have a few gs left over after purchase price if you aren't gonna have a warranty.
