Mounting/Balancing - Click HERE for Original Thread

Blackout-spec
I got 18" rims and I need to get my tires mounted and have them balanced.

I went to Kal Tire and they wanted 250$, i was like fuck that, it only cost 45$ to have the old tires removed from the same rim. so how does it cost 200$ to balance 4 tires?

anyone know a more reasonable place to get some tires mounted and balanced without having to worry to much about them coming back with a dent or massive scratch in the rim?

Inzane
Try the southside Fastech Tires, on 97st south of 51ave.

Blackout-spec
haha AWESOME!!! 108$ and they guarantee not to scratch the rim!

Thanks so much man.

Inzane
You're welcome.

Prudz_lude
i paid 53 dollars at kal tire for 3 rims and tires. tiny nick was left on the rim but i am not stressing over it. wheel works did more damage to my rims. You probably would have spent about 70 at kal tire

JeepGirl
$250?!?!?!?

WTF!?!?! They saw you coming!!!

I had 8 4X100 steelies done last year. one set with new summer tires and the other with winter treads. He sanded and repainted the wheels then mounted and balanced them all and it cost me nothing.....

But my Hubby loves me lots :p

The most I have ever paid was $75 but that was a few years ago...

It depends if Kal Tire quoted you for baancing with their Road Force Balancer. Its alot more expensive then regular balancing but it works really good for hard to balance wheels.

Blackout-spec
he said it was 250$ because for 1 they were 18" rims.
also because if they fuck up, and scratch a rim, or tear a tire, they are replacing it. and he said it will cost them a lot more then 250$ to replace the rim/tire.

i told them not to scratch my rim and im not paying 250$ for a 30 min job.

that place is a joke.

they told me 250$ to mount and balance 4 18" rims.

apparently the bigger the rim, the more expensive it is.
mostly because they say,"oooo this guy has money for big rims, lets charge him more since we can".

i guarantee if i went back to kal tire and asked to balance 4 18" steelies, it would prob cost less then 100$.

Prudz_lude
ROFL exactly, Check out the feedback section lol. I made a huge post about this and how shitty kal tire is. because i have 17s its supposidly going to cost me way more. I argued that stock cars are 17s now so why are they cheaper. then they said, well yours are aftermarket. WTF does that have to do with anything? because the pattern and look are different they are now more of a risk. Fuck, oem rims cost more to buy then aftermarket rims.

Inzane
I'd rather give my money to Fastech personally, even if the guys down the street were a few bucks cheaper.

Cal and the boys there have been huge long-time supporters of a lot of local car clubs and racing clubs in town here and have earned the respect of many.

Blackout-spec
yah i showed up and they were really nice. costed a bit more then what they said but i dont care if i can trust that my rims will come back in the same condition.

cost 127$ mounted/balanced for some 18's

Four 20" Rims, had the old rubber taken off, the new rubber mounted and the rims balanced, the kind with the special stick-on weights that mount to the inside of the rim because there's no lip to put weights on the outside of the rim...

Yeah, quoted $50, cost me $70 in the end... Because I didn't mention the special weights.

Not going to mention where though. Keeping this gem to myself.

Alberta_Daytona
I cant find under 100$ to mount/balance some 15" tires....now how shitty is that...Been to Kal tire, they wanted 170$

Minute muffler 200$

Canadian tire wasted 110$
As did wallmart...

and I have booked for thursday to get em done for 80$ + any weights they use.

Fuck thats almost as much as I spent on the tires lol.

Blackout-spec
my tires and rims were about 1500$. so 125$ to mount/balance is not that bad aslong as they still look like new.

WorkinProgress, where did you get 20" rims mounted for 70$? lol, thats a good deal.

my guess, you paid a friend at a auto place...
