They're good cars. Bad owners, but great cars. 92's have more cooling issues than 94's. But if you're a good owner, you will already know that.
If you do what's required, they are the best car EVER MADE. If you don't, then they are Satan's sister.
Are you mechanically inclined? Money to spare? Like cars? :)
Lots of people are importing JDM FD's, GET ONE YOU CAN SEE FOR YOURSELF! Trust me on this. There's about 5-6 people that bought sight unseen and got DOA FD's. Not a good way to start off a relationship.
I love my FD. I love working on it, and I love how it looks, handles, drives. There's nothing on the road like it. It will easily smoke overpriced NSX's, looks 100x better than any Skyline. And once you own one and work on it, you join the few, the proud.
But more than likely Luke. You'll import one. It will suck, you'll blow something, it won't boost right. You'll get frustrated and add to it's bad rep. Step up, or step aside. |

1) Always check the oil level. Rotaries by design from the factory consume a tiny bit of oil, to keep the internal seals lubricated. Let the oil run low, the seals run dry, the engine go boom, the owner says "rotaries are shit!" when it was actually their own fault.
2) Rotaries use oil to make compression. No oil, no compression, no start. In winter, cold oil doesn't move very well. Hence, rotaries have a hard time starting below -20. Keep it plugged in, it will start fine. |

| I too got my FD two weeks ago. Read up on rx7club.com and do your homework. They turn alot of heads, and are fast as piss. Plan on putting money into it, plan on the motor/turbos going one day. And if you can, i'de strongly suggest you buy a stock one. When you put money into if do everything at once, just dont do exhaust, intake, etc. or you'll run into problems. Save your money, buy all the parts, and when your ready put them in and get her tuned. |

I know you like your car but come on... Lets turn this around. The NSX looks better than an RX7 and the skyline GTR is faster.
Looks are 100% opinion. |
