Independant Subaru repairs?? - Click HERE for Original Thread

eightoh
I have a Subaru Legacy that needs some work - most likely a new head gasket.

Searching the internet told me that Rally Subaru is pretty good, but does anyone have any experience with a local shop that is good?

thanks!

I personally have had good and horrible experencies from rally with my Sti

The Good
They continued warrently work on my car when it was obviously tuned and I don't have the stock parts

The Bad
Nothing works right ever since.
They broke some of my tuned parts.
Refused to take responsibility when they didn't put back together my front end right and it fell off on the highway.
Took weeks longer than expected , "shipping parts delay"
Had poor choices in non-subaru stock parts
Overpriced
And they really busy, have to book far in advance

But for simple warrenty or regular maintance, they good enouph I guess, I would go to City Sub now if I had to, even though they're just as busy

Rally Subaru used to be one of the best dealerships I have ever dealt with hands down. But a few months ago they lost a bunch of their best employees to intenal BS. They lost their 2 best mechanics and their service writer and parts guy. Their service has gone in to the toilet since then. And as for cars with mods done to them, stay away from Rally. None of their mechanics now have any experience with aftermarket parts and their lead mechanic hates anything to do with them.

As for service on a stock car I would go to Sub City before Rally now. Sub City has a few good mechanics that know their stuff on stock cars. But the mechanics at Sub City dont have much experience with aftermarket either.

Excactly.
