240sx ka24 - Click HERE for Original Thread

Not sure if that is the full engine code or whatever. Anyway, long story short i have 10k of debt that needs to be clear by september so i am going to be selling my pristine prelude pretty quick most likey:( :( :( i should have enough to buy a 240sx for around 3k.

I know that there is lots of after market support for the sr20s but i am curious if its easy to reach 250-300whp on the stock block and head on the ka24 motors safely. Can i turbo that engine and reach 300whp without worrying that its going to blow the fuck up on me. Also i am not even sure if that is the right motor.

I am looking at the 89-94's i think. the ones with the flip lights, ovalish taillights that look similar to a 4th gen prelude :) If someone has one in black for around that price in a month or two let me know. I have lots of research i have to do before i buy it.

As for support what are my options with this motor. I don't really want to swap an sr20 in but if thats the cheapest way to make that power than i guess i will be looking at doing that in the future. However, if i can get away with slowly building the car up and turboing then i will do that and avoid a swap.

Could you guys send some really good links for websites that i can start looking at.

To all the prelude guys, i am sorry :( I am pretty fucked at the moment and am looking into all options around 3k...

I am looking at sr20 swaps and they are about 2grand from what i am seeing. am i better off saving 2 more g's and then adding on from there??

Sorry. It will blow up. 300whp on a KA24 stock block/head = boom.

Ya I don't even know why I bother answering this shit. Its been covered too many times but I really don't have anything better to do.

First off, you need to read up on 240's. At least you are thinking about a real car...

If you are passionate enough about a ka-t you can make it work. Rich is just being a douche, and clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. Believe it or not you CAN boost the piece of shit truck motor to make good numbers.

It's not a question on whether or not you can make 300 out of a stock ka block/head, its more about how long it will last. A ka24DE with a good comp has the potential to do it.

As someone else said, ka-t is a labour of love. Stock up on spare engines, get used to the swap and you will have some fun.

'Nough said,

start reading fool

the only power i speak of is reliable power.

a 300whp KA24 on stock internals will die in a clankity horror after not nearly long enough. for the cost of making it reliable he's into SR20 territory.

Prudz_lude
yah so far just from reading the noob section of that first site i have seen some break down of prices. Of course its more because of labour and shipping ect. I will be looking at an sr20 swap in a year or two and will just put it all together at once if i go along with it all. If i do all this i will just drop it all and aim for 350whp or reliability  3000 dollars and 2 years of driving and hopefully in two years i will have my 350whp beast
