Hot Rod Flat Black? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Phantasm
I heard there was a type of Flat black paint thats really popular with the domestic crowds that can have a clear coat and retain its non-luster surface. I was also told that you could wax it and it still wouldn't shine. Does anyone know what brand or type of paint this is?

I believe what you want to look for is a "Matte Flat Finish" - it's basically clear coat that gives you a matte finish instead of glossy.

Give the folks and Carlson's a call. They should be able to help you out. I know that lots of guys used Endura before, but there are actual companies like PPG making flat black specifically for these applications.
