I have a 98 impreza rs 2.5l dohc and have a cobb cold air intake need a new exhust I am looking at a bunch of mods in next couple of months like new cams springs underdrive pulley clucth flywheel short sifter new swaybars wondering since I want a loud sound and performance out of my exhust which one is better bolt on or custom and if so ether bolt on or costom which produts are better then the rest.

You already have Cobb, what's wrong w/ their catback as well?

Cams and exhaust if you want more horsepower.
Then suspension, you can't really go wrong by doing suspension first either. |

yep...
cams and valve springs REALLY help
EL headers do a lot but remove the boxer burble
do either a lightened crank pulley or flywheel BUT NOT both as you will get a check engine light
cat back? anything that's 2-1/4" is best if you plan on staying NA as the scavenging/backpressure/flow is perfect
then get a piggyback such as a perfectpower SMT6, apexi SAFCII, or the upcoming COBB NA accessport
you can also do little things like shortshift and bushing but if you do all of the above you will be able to beat 2.0L WRXs
If you want anything more you need to get into p&p and such. |
