| It seems my excellent luck with cops has finally come to an end as i knew it would. Driving up from LA last week i recieved a ticket in utah (90mph in a 75zone). I was stupid and speeding and i deserve the ticket, however the licence plate the officer wrote on the ticket is incorrect. one extra diget was added making it a completely invalid plate number. on that note i was also let off for having invalid plates on the car (should have been impounded). should i challenge the ticket based on that? |

| If you don't have plans of going back to la forget about it. The ticket will not affect you in Canada what so ever. But if do plan on going back, and end up getting pulled over while there you will have to pay or go to jail lol |

| US law doesn't work the same as Canadian, they are way more fixated on technicalities. Someone with experience in US law would have to answer that. |

Why don't you try and call a traffic ticket specialist in California? They can usually represent you, without needing you there, for a small fee. If you have an overdue traffic fine in the USA, there is usually a warrant issued for your arrest. I've heard of people being arrested and jailed when making a connection in an American airport (for a traffic fine many years before).
Remember the law varies quite a bit state-to-state, so contact only Cali firms... |

Why did you change plates?
i didn't change plates, the car was purchased from the previous owner with the CA plates that were on it. those plates were de-registered by the previous owner but remained on the car. i needed some plates to drive on so those are better than nothing. |
