Even if they dont admit it, someone is always going to feel something about the other person. So one person may see it as platonic but the other wont to differing degrees. It may not be outright im in love with you, but the guy might see potential in the women or the women might daydream about a relationship "what if" with the guy.
Two examples:
Girl and a guy, they hang out and chat, and the girl thinks the guy and herself are just platonic because he doesnt treat her like other guys do, and she thinks he is her best friend. Meanwhile he is in love with her and if he's a nutjob probably has a shrine in his house to bits of her hair that he stole from her comb when she wasnt looking (worst case haha). Sorry I just finished watching that family guy episode where Peter locates his prom date lol.
The other example would be a Guy who hangs out with a chick that is below his league, be it fugly or large or w.e. They get along great because the guy thinks he has a female companion that he isnt attracted to, but loves the dialouge etc etc and enjoys the female aspect without the akwardness of having a super hot bombshell who he might feel fidgety about. Meanwhile the chick in this "platonic relationship" see's this great looking guy hanging out with her, and giving her attention, and even if she wont openly admit it, she feels an attraction to him. She might even save pieces of his skin for her collection (lol had to make it fair on both sides, chicks can be creepy too).

Anyways no straight guy ever has a platonic relationship because he wants to bone any chick he can find. If you are gay or have no dick then I see the platonic shit working for you. Just tell her you love her Terry instead of asking our opinions on this stuff. But be cautioned; if you say the L word then most likely your sex life will take a dramatic turn for the worst.

I have my wife, which is obviously not a platonic relationship... Then i have some female friends like a lady who I used to work with at a bar... she calls me her dealer (computer stuff) no sexual or even physcal(hugging, etc) going on there.
I dunno call me wierd, but for the most part I find women make better friends than guys... |

i have a friendship like that. she is my best friend. sure at one point in my life i thought about tagging it, but that was years ago right after i met her. then i got married and then divorced.
it was funny, one of the things that my ex-wife brought up was that i was fucking around with her because i would talk to her at work. maybe that was my chance? hahahah no.
