1986 chevette scooter ...... $350-400 starting price (offers are absolutely welcome)

basically this car is sitting in my dads driveway now and he's giving me greif.... need it gone...

-2 door
-4 spd. manual
-1.6 litre
-rwd (if you didn't already know....)
-flat black exterior
-red interior
-about 160 000 kms (original running gear)
-cd player (JVC I think)

this car is your typical classy chevette.... i bought it off of my friend last October and drove it everyday daily up untill May (about 7 months)and in all the time that i drove it i had no breakdowns at all.... thats driving to and from edmonton from sherwood park everyday and even a calgary trip ( i was shocked at it's reliability) the car doesn't use oil but does have a leaking radiator...

this car still runs and drives fine and would be great for anyone looking for a cheap car to ice race or just spend a little time and use it daily.... if it were to be used daily i woul drecomend a new radiator and it would need an exhaust as right now it is without exhaust....

I'll try to throw pics up.....

thanks all...

forgot to mention that i've taken it out to two (2) of the edmontan rally clubs rallycross events and i managed to get first in it both times in the rear wheel drive class....

and i have some spare parts booting around that can go with the car.... altenator, coil, oil filter(s), maybe some other stuff not 100% sure what i've got.....

Bump for my old car, this thing ran with not a single problem for me the whole time I owned it as well and I drove around the city all day for my job. Plus it is just a fun car to drive around, especially in the winter, good old rear wheel drive.

Al*
come on guys this is a cheap reliable old rear wheel drive car... anyone???? offers???

sounds good dude. let me know. i could take it off your hands friday i need something to get back and forth from work... this would be a nice little car.

diesekiel
that's not much of a down grade from an S4...... lol. :p

Fazda
lol, i need something just for back and forth to work so i keep the miles down. haha

diesekiel
yeah good idea, especially since ur trying to sell the audi, ur smart, that chevette would be fun tho lol. gl with the s4 sale, im amazed it hasn't sold yet........ mind boggling........ :dunno:

Fazda
ya i guess people just aren't in the market for a nice second hand car right now.. Im sure if it was a standard it would of sold by now. Im not to concerned with it though, I love driving it. If she sells she sells. Ill just buy another one in a year or so after i pay more of this on off and let it go for cheaper. That little chevette would be fun though haha.. Thanks for the props.

Fazda
still got the car?

JeepGirl
buy it and swap in a 3.8L V6!!!!

I had bunches of these cars, they are like the domestic version of the Honda Civic, easy to work on, easy to modify.

I've had 2 V6 swapped ones, One was an 86 deluxe with power everything, including seats, mirrors, hood and hatch release and it had a 2.8L injected V6 from an 87 Camaro.

And the other was a 78 with the 3.8L buick V6 swap and it was carbed.

Both those cars kept a very big smile on my face. Good times.

Oh and the stock engine and carb can be "detuned" to run on even less gas. Making it even better for commuting or deliveries or whatever.

Dammit!! I want this car!! but my husband would KILL ME
:dunno:

Bump for a cool car from the past.

P.S.
Anyone EVER remember seeing these cars in a showroom way back when???? It's like they just materialized out of nowhere!

*EDIT*
If you buy this and plan on swapping engines... You'll NEED to swap out the rear end as well... they don't handle power very well...... -someone that has blown up more than a few chevette rear difs-

Al*
thanks... car is now sold....
