Shit, crap, dammit!
Out of the blue, a family member started working for a financial planner. I went in, found a great plan, and sent out my application.
Pending getting accepted, I have to go through an exam. And one thing they check for is marijuana.
I've only smoked it once a year for the last three years. Seriously only ONCE/year. Only happens when I go camping... My last time was that weekend when that person got hit by lightning at Pigeon Lake. It wasn't a baking contest. Three hoots and I stopped.
Now, my time frame before testing time is about 3 to 5 weeks away (worst to best case scenario).
To put it blatantly, am I fucked no matter what I try?
I think I've got two options. Praying, and trying the detox stuff.
Do those drinks that you can pick up at Two Guys With Pipes work? I remember someone mentioning taking Niacin because it'll remove "toxins" from your body. Any opinions?
And will left-overs from either the Niacin, or other detox options show up on the test as "HEY!!! THIS GUY IS HIDING SOMETHING?"

| if thats all you smoked it should clean out of your system pretty quickly. there are a lot of things people say work, some work, some don't. Since i don't normally smoke i don't really know which ones to use. But that little amount shouldn't show after a few weeks. |

You have nothing to worry about. Sounds like the last time you smoked was awhile ago, add to that another 3 to 5 weeks, no problem. I stopped smoking but I have passed multiple test after 4 weeks of not smoking and that was when I was smoking alot of weed. |

So...the drug test is to check you're not a dope addict and are actually worth their time to plan out your finances???
Suppose it makes sense but it seems a bit discriminatory
And if you're applying for a job, guess that would make more sense if it's a position where drug use/abuse can have an impact on how you do your work :dunno:
In the end it still seems a bit extreme.
Why does what you do in your own personal life matter?
Either way, good luck with cleaning your pee.
I can't help much other than knowing that it is possible to buy a fake penis that looks reals and is attached to a sack where you put in clean urine.
Whip it out during the test and fill it up with the good pee.
Supposed to be for athletes, I believe I saw it in a Men's Health magazine or some body building mag. |

You have nothing to worry about. I bet its out of your system already. When I applied to Suncor I had a drug test to do. The only thing was that I smoked some hash 3 weeks prior to the test. I was shitting bricks. Needless to say I passed the test.

| piss tests are easy as hell to pass, back when i used to be a wildland firefighter we would go though a ounce a day lol. after the summer was over i had taken a job with HSE as a saftey watch and was pissed tested after being clean for one week. i passed so i think your good lol. |

Cannaboid metabolites are quite hard to detect for chronic smokers after only three weeks. For your average casual smoker, a two week break from the reefer will not test positive.
Most of the time drinking lots of water (about 3x more than you usually have a day) for two weeks will clean you right out. Those detox kits can help, too. The only conceivable problem is with people who smoked a lot of pot and put on some extra weight. THC is fat soluble, so some may be stored in body fat. You tend to eat more when you’re high, cause it tastes soooo good, right? Mild exercise (cardio mainly) to burn a light amount of fat, perhaps 2-5lbs, while drinking lots of water should flush you out completely in two weeks.
My information is based on a recent study I read... but I can't find the link at this moment. The upper bound for detection can be as high as 60 days, but those who researched that are thinking about revising their claim because of the result of new studies on the topic.
I just passed my test without a problem although I've been exposed to quite a bit of second hand smoke. The nurse said that you 'have to have a substantial amount of metabolites in your urine' to test positive. A lot of people show some form of minor metabolites in their body, mainly from second hand exposure (street or at someone's home/party) but will not test positive. The test is STANDARDIZED, that is, no matter who you test with, they all have the same tolerances.
Take at least two weeks to do:
1. Drinking lots of water
2. Light exercise
3. Try some detox kits (not really needed, tho)
4. Don't smoke it or be around someone who does.
5. Try to carry this on until your drug test (all 5 weeks if you can!):P |

| Oh, and don't try to fake a sample. They color the water of the toilet so you can't flush anything extra, they measure your urine temperature, they require government photo id, they also have you empty all your pockets and take off your shoes before doing the test and the nurse will be in the next room to check it immediately. They also do a double blind test, so they both have to test positive to be positive. And if they suspect that the result is tampered, they will flag it as tampered... which your employer may consider as a positive. |

lol... LSD metabolizes completely in 24 hours ;p Because its one of the lowest effective dosage drugs in the world, its pretty damn hard to detect even when you are high on it! |

Yup, after reading around a little, I think I shall be ok.
I checked out Erowid.org, and they mentioned that
"A single use of cannabis may be detected by a typical urine drug test for 1-6 days depending on amount smoked, individual body metabolism rates, and the cutoff level used by the test (15 ng/ml, 20 ng/ml, 50 ng/ml, 100 ng/ml)."
and
"Cannabis is detectable in the blood for approximately 2-3 days after use in an infrequent user. Frequent use can be detected in the blood for approximately 2 weeks."
So, needless to say, I'll be sleeping easy.
P.S. It for life insurance. It's all part of the "package" that I'm applying for. I check off "Non-Smoker"

The easiest way to pass a piss test (other then dont smoke anything) is fill a condom with clean pee and put it down your pants against your body. It will be body temp when you put it into the sample container cause thats the first thing they test.
A really funny story about a friend that tried this.
A buddy of mine when in for a piss test for a job application. He was not a heavy pot smoker but liked to endulge once and a while so he was pretty worried. So he had a friend who never smokes pee in the condom for him. He put it down his pants and went for the pee test. He goes in to the little room and as stated above the handles are off the sink so you can turn on the faucet, the toilet tank is locked and the water in the toilet is colored. No worries to him, except he forgot to bring something to poke the condom with. So he tries to rip it. Needless to say the thing explodes....pee everywhere and all over him. He takes off his shirt and tries to clean up the best he can. He did get a tiny bit in the sample container but not much. So he decides to just leave......so could you imagine what the nursed thought. Here this guy walks out with no shirt on, pee all over his pants, pee all over the room and a sample container with a few drops in it.
Needless to say he didnt get the job.....and did I mention he's an awesome guy but not the sharpest knife in the drawer. |

OT, sorry...
You went to a financial planner and he sold you a life insurance policy? If you don't have dependents (wife and kids) that need to have your income replaced if you die, the life insurance isn't really financial planning (well...for him it is). |

A friend of mine smoked up 2 days before his test. The next day he drank 2 litres of cranberry juice. He passed the test. Cranberry juice cleans out your urinary tract. Maybe the people giving him the test didn't care about weed or it actually worked. None the less, it's worth the shot. |
