off the top of your head what are the demerits. Can't find my drivers book to find out my demerits. I am going to be going to points and letting them erase this ticket. Hopefully they can get rid of it completely.
I got caught doing 140 in a 100 zone on the yellowhead highway at about 4am. not a single person was seen for at least an hour which was the most ironic part. I turned onto the highway going into edmonton around 4ish and there was this one car (i thought was just a truck) which was actually a police officer, and i started to ripped along the yellowhead. I honestly can't believe i didn't realize that the only car on the road with me was a cop and i choose to speed :lol:
Anyway, this is my second ticket that is going on my record. I have 3 demerits right now so what is it going to jump to?
The Cop was a nice guy to, he let me off the failing to signal ticket he was going to give me. |

get a traffic ticket guy, go to court and get a reduction. They hand them out like candy for appearing.
I paid $40 for mine to get reduced by $5 and a demerit. Also they changed it to disobey sign, so it doesnt look as bad on my record. Id pay $35 a demerit to have them off!
edit: rereading it, I dont think they can make the ticket dissapear totally anymore. If they issue a ticket and it isnt thrown out of court, your going to end up with demerits, you cant plead registered owner anymore. (from first and secondhand experience)

The sticky at the top with links to laws also has a link to the demerit schedule. Next time try a search for "demerits" or read a sticky before you post a thread.
So let me get this straight, the cop cut you a break, did a good deed for you, and now you want to try and weasel out of it a little more? That's quite the douchebag maneuvre.

| Whats wrong with trying to get off speeding even though the cop gave me a break? Their paychecks do not reflect how many tickets they give out. I didn't hate on the guy and he and myself were polite to each other. All this means by fighting the ticket is a i don't want to be ass raped by insurance over the years. Hell if he asked me i would have handed over 300 dollars on the spot. I would have told him it was worth it instead of paying it to insurance over 2 months.... plus another 2 years. |

If you don't see how that's a douchebag move, you've got issues.
It really sounds like you aren't learning at all. The point of demerits and increased insurance is to teach you a lesson. If you circumvent that, you drastically reduce the impact of the lesson. If it's so unaffordable, than you shouldn't be speeding. |

I have learned. I haven't been speeding since and don't plan on it. You have issues for not realizing that its in my interest to get rid of that ticket. I am sure you look out for number one when it comes to your well being and i do the same.
Driving will be affordable either way, its the amount i want to pay that this ticket is creating a bit of a predicament.
The lesson has been learned, as for the ticket, it must go. |

I have the ability to get out of any speeding ticket I get issued simply from knowledge of the system and it's associated technology, let alone through law enforcement personel that I know. And while I have not recieved a ticket (or even been pulled over and warned) in over 6 years, I paid all 3 tickets I received prior to that, despite being able to get out of them.
If you can't afford/don't want to pay the fine, you shouldn't do the crime. Period. I accept responsibility for my actions. I have no problem helping people out when there are strange circumstances in place, but that is not the case with you. You weren't treated unfairly, you don't dispute the speeds, you literally have NO reason for believing you shouldn't pay other than you don't want to.
And since you already got less of a fine than you deserved by your own admission, that makes this a douchebag move. |

| a ticket like that 40 over the judge is gonna bend u over youll need a real LAWYER points will take 300 bucks take a demerit off slap u on the but and tell u to have a nice day. btw a real lawyer will run u between 1000-2000 dollars depending what they can promise. what ui could do it if uve never gotten a ticket before try and get 2 demerits off and then take the defensive driving course which will knock off another 2 and ull be good. but u can only take the course once every 3 years. |
