| Another "big story" the media is blowing out of proportion. Read up on DCA and you'll find out really quickly that it's no miracle drug. There's many serious side effects, and it by no means cures all these types of cancer 100% of the time. At most, it MIGHT help lead to a breakthrough in mitochondrial repair. |

| I don't think that's the problem, it's just the fact because it's not something they can make huge profit out of it.. Drug companies are only interested in having cancer patients buy liters of drugs to maybe get them into remission. |

The problem is that you know nothing about DCA, except what they just showed you on CNN :) Read up more on the drug first.
Yes, it's a shame it's not getting funding. Yes, the drug companies aren't interested because it's not profitable. There's LOTS of other non-profit research funds that can invest if they think it's a viable solution. But it's not like it's a perfect drug sitting there waiting to be distributed... it's not even useful for humans in the form it's in right now... they just saw that DCA _can_ repair cancerous cells (as opposed to destroying them, which is where the breakthrough is), in _some_ situations. That's it. It needs way more research, and that's what they need funding for.
DCA is easy to get, and thousands of people have tried using it as a cancer treatment. 99% of the time, the cancer progressed as it would have without DCA, and left the patient with serious side effects afterward. |
