Wow....I wish all the best for your friend, his family and friends.
To take a practical approach, this is probably what I would do for my final days:
-Write out a will for all inheritances
-Also in the will, put down the exact conditions should life support need to be pulled
-Organize and arrange for palliative care (Palliative Care)
-Determine the details of funeral and other legalities that will be affected by my death
-Fill out the organ donor card
After all the practical stuff is done:
-Have a heart to heart with everyone that's important to me (family, friends)
-Do all the things I had ever wanted to do but was hesitant on (sky diving, heli-boarding, scuba diving, Skip Barber racing school, etc etc) and do it with friends & family
-Plan out little meaningful surprises for people after my death, something to leave with my lawyer that is to be enacted after X number of years from my death
-Enjoy the rest of my days doing what I love, living life with fervour and passion, and making sure that those who continue living will live a fuller and more meaningful life (especially those who are closest to me)
I'd say 1 month to do my personal stuff and 1 month to do the rest just cuz travel takes time.
My prayers go out to those affected by your friend's condition and especially your friend. |

If I had lots of money and I knew that I was gonna die soon, I would want a carbon fiber casket. Go out in style, plus it would be lighter for the people carrying me to the grave.
Joking aside, this really sucks, I hope for the best for your friend. |

Something like this just shows how meaningless money really is. I think about it from time to time. Examples would be famous rock stairs that had millions in the bank, yet they were so depressed they committed suicide.
My feelings go out to your friend, I can't imagine how hard that would be.
Even though there is positives and negatives to knowing when you are going to die, I would rather not know.

Sounds about what I would do.
High speed chase for sure.
fuck alot of women....check
I would also more so tortue the people that did me wrong....like paintball snipe over and over.
All joking aside....
I would probably be too depressed to do anything. I would almost think suicide would be a better idea...I mean, obviously it isn't....but in that situation you start thinking a little different.
Thats a really harsh situation. |

This is why I have a very detailed will. Money would be the last thing on my mind if I was told I had 2 months left to live. There are obviously more important things to worry about, like saying goodbye to family and friends.
That is obviously horrible what your friend is going through, but he is at least lucky he gets a chance to say goodbye to the people he loves. If he died in a car accident he wouldn't get that opportunity. |

Sometimes when your given 2 months, you may find it lasting longer. My father died of a Brain toumor in 2006, when he was diagnosed he was given imediate surgery (next day), had he not recieved it he would have passed durring the night. Post surgery, he was given 3 months to live, not much time.
We sat down with my dad, and figured out what we were going to do however at this point cancer is unforgiving. People assume you are able to do things just like you do them now, but it does not work that way. After being bed ridden for 3 weeks Pre surgery, he felt somewhat better post surgery but there were still massive personality changes.
Even though he was still alive his quality of life was nothing short of pathetic, for examples: Standing up (needed help), Walking (non existant, we got him a wheelchair), Communication (poor at best), It basicly got to the point were he would call us every 5 mins on our phones, not realizing he had already called us. (bringing us to the point to exchange a real phone with a TV remote, and saddly him not being able to tell the differance).
Keep all this in mind, My father was a university proffessor, so by no meens "Dumb".
I highly dout that it would have been possible to do anything that has been suggested on these boards, let alone physical activities.
Even though my father was given 3 months to live he sat in this embarrasing, demeaning state were he could not even move to go to the bathroom because of pain, he was with us for 11 months. I hope your friend does not surcome to these painfull, and humilliating aspects of these Cancers, for it is hard on everybody and harder on him.
My prayers go out to him and his loved ones, stay strong and cherish the time that you have.
-Leo
To answer your question, prepare a detailed will deffinally, and consult the ones closest to you. Designate an Executer, and prepare for funeral expences. as for the money, it is no use to you and the least important thing to you, Put it in the Will or the government will take it. |
