| Ever wonder what those thick white lines on Groat are doing there?... The're for speed enforcement for the godamn helicopter.<p>The Helicopter hovers high above and times the suspect in question running between the lines and through some math gets an approximate speed estimate. Then they pull you over.<p>Even though they were quoted as saying:<p>"The new Helicopter will never be used to enforce speed limits"<p>"Those lines are not for speed enforcement, it's a project, but we're not saying what"<p>Lying two faced bastards. Once, Just once, I like to see those @#$%ing politicians and Cops come clean.<p>End rant. |

| no kidding!<p>i can't believe ppl actually forked over moeny to support that #### chopper. anyone who didn't think they were gonna use it for speed enforcement is a fool.<p>edmonton has more speed/traffic enforcement per capita (in terms of laser and photo radar, red-light cameras, etc.) than any city in North America.<p>and now the cops have another cash cow. |

| Well, I can't believe that they actually had the nerve to goto the public and ask for support, they netted what, 1 million?, two million?. Tha @#$%ing chopper costs over 7 mill, and requires something like 15 mill a year to operate.<p>Toronto couldn't even maintain theirs, why the #### do we need one, goddamn liars I tell you. |

| I think those are speed trap for MotorBike.. Last time they used a rent low flying plane to speed trap the bike from high above and contact the ground unit. Those Photo Radar is not working on Motorbike |

| I hope Edmonton will be like BC, where photo radar is illegal to use.<p>I always look up the sky for any kind of flying thing when going down groat road..<p>I just went pass a photo radar van that parked on the small road beside yellowhead, me give that guy in the Van a big smile. |

what are you tlaking about? all red light cams have photo radar too.... (pretty sure of it) someone i know already got a ticket speeding past one... unless he's BSing me..
as for BC outlawing photo radar, yeah that's pretty sweet but they also have a whole bunch of cops cruising around town... i'd rather get a photo radar ticket than an actualy cop pulling me over... demerit points... err.. but yeah i agree.. this city sucks... too much photo laws enforced.. retarded if you ask me...<p>i already got dinged TWICE... but it was b/c i was speeding in a #### 50 zone |
