ADS can ________ my __________.
Anyway, as the title states, has anyone had to move having owned a big screen tv? I have a 47" crt rear-projection set, which barely fit down my basement stairs when I got it. (delivered by A&B Sound).
Just wondering, when you move, is this something that's perfectly fine to let a conventional moving crew touch, or should I make special arrangements with a company that specialized in moving TVs?
(similarly, my wife has to make some kind of arrangement for her piano).
Thanks. |

Umm... have you ever tried to move a CRT rear-projection set before? I think mine is ~ 150 lb.
This ain't no flat-screen LCD or plasma we're talking about here. ;) |

Just becareful because of the mirrors in the tv. You will have to get them to adjust the guns (the 3 colors on the back) to get the picture back to perfection. Actually that should be done every 3-4 years. That way they can clean the mirrors and adjust everything to factory spec. You can only do so much on the remote; the rest has to be done by a qualfied tech.

I moved my 55" a few years ago. 191lbs. Brutal. But as for the moving, I just wrapped it in bubble wrap and put it in the moving van. I have heard of people having to adjust the guns after a move, but mine seemed fine so I never did a thing. I only had to drive the van about 8km though. |

My cousin has moved his old 46" CRT around 5-6 times (at least) and never had a problem. He just wraps a blanket around it and moves it in a truck.
As for the piano, I would advise hiring professionals. A piano is very delicate, and like other items (pool tables, etc...) it can be damaged easily without knowing it. |
