Quads - Click HERE for Original Thread

The Daver
I am just curious if anyone can give me a reason why a quad couldnt be street legal?? If a person put signals on it and whatnot I think it is just as safe as a bike... Does anyone ever see a quad being street legal?? Just curious what some comments will be on this topic.

a quad cant ever be street legalized in the sence your thinking of. quades are classified as an ohv and as such you will never be able to take it on any roads in a residential or urban setting. im sure it would be a pretty heafty fine and if the officer wants to be a big dick about it im sure he could slap you with an uninsured+unregistered vehicle ticket if you did take a quad or dirt bike to the mall. i dont know the exact laws but you can drive quads on county roads all you need is the plate+registration and a working brake light i beleive.

One plain and simple reason. They are not safety tested or designed to be operated on pavement. Ie low pressure tires etc. If quads were safety tested and moddified for street use you more than likely won't be able to afford one.

Cheers
