Too slow...
:dunno:

That wouldn't cost too much more than a standard shifter cart, only thing is a street bike 4 stroke engine instead of a dirtbike 2 stroke. I have a nice 64hp 650cc air cooled Honda engine out in the backyard!! hehe

P.S. I'd be terrified to drive that thing, that much power and no roll cage/safety harness.

RingMini has done some NICE stuff to minis and had some fun with other stuff as well :P . From a Honda swap to turbos, their minis haul ass!

A small block Chevy would be nice...

Seriously... a b18c plopped in there is what I'm going for :D . It'd be perfect for driving around town and at the track it would have all the power you wanted. 130lb-ft of torque in a 700kg car :o . It seams practical from a reliablity and daily driver standpoint, though it maybe isn't the best performance wise; I figure it a good balance  .

Hrmm... If your lookin for a small 4cyl, have you checked out the Olds quad4?

180HP, 170FT/tq, DOHC 4 Cyl. Revs to 7000 stock, comes with 5spd getrag tranny, and if your lucky and source an olds SCX W41, you get an LSD 195HP/180TQ motor. The tranny's themselves are pretty stout, and shoudl handle anything you do to that motor.. You can find these for cheap including transmission.

Or maybe a 4g63 from a Turbo Talon? SR20DE? If a Small block chev fits under there, that opens up what you can put in there. Anyway shape or form it sounds like a lot of fabrication.. custom parts and such. You have access to a mig welder?

This car sounds like its going to be alot of fun... now I want one :P

A neighbour of my parents builds some carts like that, prolly cost a couple of grand, I personally want that little truck that they pulled the cart off of.

Oh and miniman a friend of mine in highschool put a mini together with a twin motor AWD set up. that was a fast little car

Well a small block doesn't exactly fit under it without extending the nose and raising the bonnet. I'll have the measurements Sunday, but I have seen a 1.8L fit under the hood with a custom manifold. Personally I don't mind extending the nose a little to let a bigger engine fit under the hood... do you have any idea of the size of the olds 4 banger? If not I'm sure it'll be some place on the net. The three biggest things I have to take into consideration are dimensions, weight and horsepower. If there was a motorbike engine out there with 180hp or so that was relatively inexpensive that would definitely fit the bill  . If I was rich I'd make a K20 series fit, lol.

Hehe, ya I would be dead if I didn't have access to a MIG welder :P .

Minis really are a blast, even bone stock. The handling on them is something most other cars can only dream of (maybe it's partly because the rear suspension consists of two rubber cones... lol). So far I haven't been able to ride in a mini with more than 90-95hp and those minis FLEW  .

Niiiicceee. I have seen one AWD mini and I have seen a number of twin engined minis. Most of the twin engined minis had motorbike engines mounted in the rear of the car and the back seat was removed and replaced by an enclosure. That is way more work than I would be willing to put into a car! About the AWD mini, can you tell me more about it? The only one I've seen wasn't yet finished and it didn't look to be the safest thing ever... seeing as though the drive shaft ran inches away from the driver and passenger's legs! If I had measurements, etc for something like that (as I do for the Honda conversion) then I would do that anyday. Just grab the front clip of an Audi A4 1.8T :P .

You should start a thread about this "mini conversion" or ideas and such for it..

Soo many possibliltyies for small 4 bangers.. even 6's... soooo many

Heh welding is awsome, that was my fav/best subject next to automotives in high school :)
