The guy who started the SpeedVision channel, which was fantastic, until he sold it, and it became the Speed Channel, showing 24 hours a day NASCAR, is at it again.
He wants to start another racing channel, to show road racing, and rallying and all the other motorsports again. He wants to see some support that he can show to his potential sponsors of the new venture. So, he's asking for anyone interested in the new channel to click on a button on his website. You don't need to signup or commit to anything, just show some support for the new channel.
I got this website from Autoweek magazine, so I think this is fairly legit. Let's help this guy get some interesting car shows back on TV!!! Go to this website and click on the button.

| suh-weet! I left an extensive comment in the optional email part. maybe a serious(mature) show about 4-cylinder power and sport-compact handling will FINALLY be possible!!!!! follow that up with an hour of ATPA tractor-pulling and truck-pulling(w/ modern diesels) and I'd never leave the couch! |

Frankly if people want to watch Nascar races, I'm not one to stop them. But why the fuck do they have to watch shows about it 24/7? Reality shows, poker shows, discussion shows. Seriously, who watches all of that shit? Do these people not have jobs?
I miss my WRC. |

| This is great to hear. I love watching WRC and GT class races. I can't stand nascar, it has to be biggest waste of a weekend. It would be more entertaining to watch a few guys in their basement playing with slot cars. |

| So he can sell it down the road and the new owners can sell out to NASCAR too? |

Something tells me that the fact that he's starting a new channel means that Speed has evolved into something that he doesn't like. |

I like Nascar.... I also like F1, SPRINT CARS, DRAG RACING, MONSTER TRUCKS, ECT I think the TRN is a good idea but speed has a great nascar package...
No other racing in this part of the world has the fans, the money, or the show. NASCAR dose not start races with 1/2 the cars missing. USGP last year...
With that said i miss rally too...... but why is it gone? because nobody watched it..... |

At the end of the day, money talks.

that may be the case, but if you look at GT racing here and in the states and the fact that the cars are not going 200 MPH down the front and the back straight after a series of well calculated left turns its more like watching tennis... and to most that is all that they can compute while spectating.
there is money in other types of racing here and the states, its just that the majority of it is out of the pocket of the general public and a few small time sponsors. |

| Well with rally coming into the X Games hopefully it will bring a new generation of rally fans. I don't mean just to the X games, but hopefully they enjoy watching it there so much that they start watching the WRC more. |

You know that Toyota Spent half a billion dollars to run 2 cars for 18 races this year, and they did the same last year right. If you think there is more money in Nascar then there is in F1 you have no clue what your talking about. I understand that nascar has its positives. The cars are built to be equal, and the level of skill required to make one car really stand out from the pack is considerable as long as everyone has a setup that is working well. But personally I feel life is to short to run around in circles. I also find it amusing that Jeff Gordon, a driver that grew up on open wheel cars is showing everyone how it is done right now in nascar. WRC was also on at 1am.. which didn't help it with getting loads of people watching it.
I would also like to point out that over 300million people tune in to watch F1.. and thats why its on speed vision. Michael Schumacher was making over 80 million a year before he retired. If he had kept racing he likley would have been the first Driver to make a Billion dollars for driving a car. |

well i do know what i am talking about...
speed paid how much for the tv rights? 30 million per season
on the other hand espn who now has nascar paid 10 times the amount for the nascar rights. 300 million for the tv package for a year... do you think nobody watches
yes F1 has the money but it has world fans and hundreds of networks pitching 30 million a pop.
Look at north american fan base, nascar has the market cornered and with the loss of the USGP pext year F1 will fall further back again. |
