Tach on a 1997 Neon - Click HERE for Original Thread

Looking to install a tach on a friends 1997 Neon, already have the tach im just wondering where i would find a tach wire under the hood to hook onto.

it's not as easy as that.. you need some signal adaptor thingy.. I can't remember the proper name.. It's like $5o or so. I think for the dyno it was the middle one they conected to.

Somebody will post up more.

Actually it should be real easy on that car, no additional parts required. The tach signal wire can be gotten at a 3 pin plug right on the top of the motor. Either the Dark Blue/Tan wire or the Black/grey wire should work for you but I suggest the Black/Grey

Blue/grey wire under the dash (by the cluster). Just splice and it's good to go.
