| UMM what a joke. I hope no one else made that trip. Biggest waste of time. that event was pathetic. Love the 200 Cars bit, there was maybe a total of 50....and Drifitng...yeah thats not till Sunday. Once again pathetic event. best was one of the big bad Skyline's running a 19sec 1/4.... not once but 3 runs in a row... jesus christ. |

| very poor turn out, plus i wasnt impressed that I paid $45 dollars because i came on time, and others got let in for a lot less. The only bonus was that i got a lot of extra runs in on the autox coarse. Also the drifting display was bad ass. |

It was a disappointing turn out for sure. Boils down to support though. So, you have to go in order for there to be people driving down the drag strip - and that is the responsibility of the SCC/Import community to get their butts to the event and race.
I'm sure Edmonton will be a better turnout - Calgary doesn't seem to have the same level of enthusiasm for the track that Edmonton does. Could be that the track in Edmonton is that much better. :dunno: |

Unfortunately I worked the Saturday night before Calgary SCC, or I'd have been down there all weekend.
I do believe I'll have the Aristo out to make some passes at Edmonton's SCC though. |

| The drifting on sunday was pretty good I heard. As for the scene dying out i dont think its dying out, it was a long weekend so I imagine that poeple had other things to do but that is pretty weak. If it is dying dow least the cars should get cheaper. |

blame the weather again
but then again the last good SCC event i was at was Calgary back in 2005, and edmonton in 2005, huge turn out for show cars that year, and huge turnout for racing, and autocrossing and drifting was pour but then again, those years drifting was just starting to pick up in alberta.
as long as the weather is good i hope the next edmonton one will be good, as markis also owes me a free entry to the edmonton one because i was at the first edmonton on and paid to race, but it was canceled 15 min after i had paid and gone in.
there was about 10 more of us from edmonton that would of come down if the weather in edmonton was better, adn the forcast for calgary had looked better |

Calgary scc in 05 sucked balls. It wasn't half as good as Edmonton's. They didn't even follow the normal eliminations. Who just does heads up for all the cars, and not the A B C classes like in Edmonton.
I guess that's what you get for driving to Calgary  |

Maybe so, but it was pouring in Edmonton, which made people not want to chance the trip. |
