What are you trying to accomplish??

ShiftyTheKid
well from what i have been told ford was aware thatevery 3rd gen sho with the v8 had defective cams that ca lead to you replacing the engine now there is a way of fixing it and thats by welding the cams i just dont know where to bring it to get it done.

1. Have you owned the car since new?

2. Go to a Ford dealer that you trust check the vin see if it applies

3. Then get Ford to fix the issue. I am sure that there is a recall for it. Since Ford recalls anything and everything since the Pinto.

4. If that gets you nowhere then check Yamaha motor web sites.

5. Failing that wait till the motor lunges and then buy a import.

Cheers,

Grace Too

ford doesnt have a recall for it. theres a lawsuit thats been going on for a long time now but i highly doubt anyting will ever come out of it.

right now that i know of there is nobody in the edmonton area that will do it.. i've heard about some guy in calgary but dont know full details on who he is or if he still does it.

i think your best bet might be to buy some welded cams if anyone has some forsale and send your back as a core if thats possible.

if you want to go that route maybe hit up www.shoforum.com or www.v8sho.com

both pages will have alot of information about it.

The cam sproket comes loose from the shaft, and wrecks the engine. You'll have better luck of you go to the Alberta SHO Club forum (albertashoclub.ca) and ask there. I think there are a few guys (Tom or Colin) who do it, or could tell you where to get it done.

Yeah, but Tom is a decent guy, and would probably figure out a way to get it done!

Anyways, let me know what you find out, I'm looking to pick up a 3rd gen this fall.
