| This hurts, 1994 RX7 TT for sale - $12500 - Click HERE for Original Thread |
| ehos |
Yeah, I don't really want to do this, especially when I have it boosting/running so nicely. Nice running driving, rare colour correct hand drive FD for VERY cheap price!
This is a 1994 PEP Chaste White FD. USDM, lots of miles on the body, but the engine was rebuilt 30K Miles ago. PERFECT Compression and a -20 on the vacuum (yeah! read up, that's amazing).
It was having boost issues and it took a while to track them down. It turned out to be something really simple and insidiously hidden (ACR was 2 turns out, so..). Boosts perfectly.
I went through a major teardown/rebuild on it. Including new clutch, rebuilt front calipers and choma'd them, redid all brakes, fluids, fuel filter, cleaned the underbody/tranny/diff. Cleaned the engine etc. Oh yeah, ugly intercooler duct :)
It's ready to go! Aftermarket intercooler, apexi intakes, no AC/PS, some weight reductions, downpipe etc. JDM ashtray (you NEED this on a FD, seriously). Defi boost gauge, RX8 shift knob, lots of little stuff I'm forgetting (small touches like no foot rest for extra room for tall drivers).
Brand new Toyo Proxies all around (like new). It has 2 dents on the car, but overall it's an original paint Chaste White FD.
It needs rear pillow bushings. I can install these for the new buyer (just bring them to me). It handles very tight, but it squeaks. The brakes are Hawks, they squeak and let off lots of dust.
My usual selling spiel: Don't contact me unless you have $12,000. (Yeah, the price is 12,500, but in the history of all cars ever sold, everyone wants to 'dicker', so there's your dicker). Don't contact me if you need to sell your car, or any of that nonsense or a trade etc.
You can have the car inspected, do your own due diligence etc etc, and I will give you full disclosure (where all the dings dents are, right down to anything and everything minor that might be not perfect with the car). But don't waste my time (or yours!).

No longer for sale, my student loans put a Lien on this car so I will have to take care of this.
(Someone is telling me to KEEP it) :)
(I found out about the Lien after it was put up for sale, just so all the internet warriors know). |

The FD is back on sale!
The new situation is this, the new buyer will not pay me, instead the money will go to CCRA and they will remove the lien. (It's Canadian Customs and Revenue Agency). |
|
|
| ehos |
| Hey, this is still for sale, almost forgot about this thread. |
|
|
| ehos |
Let me explain the lien, you won't be paying ME the money. You will make the cashiers cheque to the Government of Canada (student loans).
I don't even have to touch the money, we can mail the money together to CCRA and you can have the car. The government will remove the lien, and my student loan is almost paid off.
For 12,000 there isn't a better FD out there. For 20 Grand you would be hard pressed to find a better FD. |

Either people is broke or they don't want a good deal?
Rule 1 of selling, never give anyone a good deal. 1) They will think something is wrong. 2) They're used to overpaying and they will refer to #1
:)
Have it inspected, drive it, this car is a monster for cheap. |

Just wondering, does the interior squeak/rattle from having so many kms on the chasis? |

They squeak and rattle from the factory, as do many cars. |
|
|
| Eclipser |
| I realise that, thanks. I probally should have asked does it squeak/rattle excessively? |
|
|
| ehos |
The only squeak/thunk is the right rear pillow bushing. And the hawk pads squeak sometimes (normal).
It is a very very tight car. Newer KYB Yellows all around. Handles very tight, new Toyo Proxies.
Judge by condition, not miles. |

You can clearly see the condition of the car. this seller is very honest with it. If my project was finished/complete i would love to snag this car up.
Bump for one hell of a car.

it's a used sports car, what do you expect? A show room quality Audi TT? |

| I did not ask for your opinions, iasked ehos a question. my first car with 160kms rattled more than my winter beater with 250kms. |

That's what inspections are for. Obviously a car with that many km's on the body will need general maintenance. |

I understand the concern. But, you should have the car inspected. A professional mechanic can tell you MUCH more than a 'number'.
And a test drive can point out any squeaks or rattles. And like I said, it does make noise from the pillow bushings. But the doors, dash, bins, basic interior is solid and rattle free. IF there is a squeak or rattle, I fix it. (Remove, tighten, re-install/whatever it takes). Not rocket science here.
I re-affirm my rule that you should NEVER ever ever give a good deal. People are used to getting ripped off. And if they see something for less than FULL price (ie a $29,000 FD lol) then they think 'something wrong'.
Yeah, something is wrong. It's priced below what it should be.
So far ONE person has seen the car, he had it inspected, he was 100% ready to buy, except for the lien. Again, I don't get the lien money. It goes to student loans. The lien WILL be removed by them. I don't see how I can make it any easier or more clear than this.
If the car is not up to snuff, guess what, DON'T BUY IT! :)

this situation is someone's loss and your gain, no brainer that you save money, why doesnt someone get their shiat together and come to a realization that good car is a good car, and a crap car, well its a crap car. this car for high kms is a great car. |
