CEL problem on B18c1 Civic - Click HERE for Original Thread

Here's the problem On hot day usually my car will all of a sudden lose power and shut off while i am driving too. But after a few minute it will start again. My engine light code reads 20 (o2 sensor) 41 (Electrical Load Detector) I read on the net that to fix the code 41 all i have to do is replace the fuse box. Do you know if this is true? But I was talking to a junk yard mechanic and he said it's the fuel injection relay therefore i'm not quite sure if this is the problem. Do you have any idea which one is true? thank for your input.

i would look at your wiring, from the little research i did, it could be anything from improperly grounded wires, loose wires, wires shorting out, etc... it could also be that you need the eld fuse box as well, but i wouldnt do that as my first option. you'll never know until you start eliminating your options. as far as the 02 code goes, the two could be related if say your wiring to the o2 was melted and grounding out... if not i say try a buddies 02 in there or one that you know is good, see if that gets rid of the code. what ecu are you using?

code 41 Primary oxygen sensor heater

code 20 Electrical load detector

Canadian cars do not have ELD that is onyly a USDM thing iirc a chipped ecu will solve the ELD issue.

As far as O2, if you have poor grounds or something that could cause the issues. Check over wiring as holset said.

the chipped ecu would be the way to go if you are planning to upgrade the motor anyway.

Yup, what Gen civic is this / What gen engine?

Every swapped civic ive owned gets the ELD code but it never throws a check engine like, you must be getting it for the heater circuit.

Well i have a 93 civic hb cx with b18c1 motor. I read some where that 1. it can be a fuel ignition relay or 2 bad fuse box. it make sense cause my fuel will cut off sometimes usually when it's hot out. it will cut fuel and make my car feels like ti's losing power.

Also i know the o2 sensor wire is breaking out cuz it's so low to the ground. Do you guys thinks it's teh Fuel ignition relay or can it be something else????
thx

If the car is loosing power, studdering and then dieing, but then will restart 5 to 10 mins later and run for another 10 mins you likley have a bad coil in your distributor. Its fine tell it heats up then it dies on you. The ELD could be the wire that goes from the alternator to the fuse box. a O2 sensor code wouldn't cause this kind of issue.
