Serpentine belt question? - Click HERE for Original Thread

B1GDADDY
So the belt went in my 99 lumina which has a 3.8l v6. I was curious too know if im good to slap a new one in or am I looking at timing issues.

I've heard things about interference engines and that they are not good. I also don't know if thats just timing belt related or also serpentine related:dunno:

So can anyone give me some insight on this?
Any constructive input would be great:thumbup:

Thanx

normally the timing belt/chain is diff than the serp belt.. the serp belt tends to drive your accessories like alt/power steering/ac/ and sometimes water pump.

If you can crank the engine and it doesn't make funny clunking noises I wouldn't worry about it...

I dunno everything.. but I have yet to see a car that the serp belt is also the timing belt.
