WTB: D series motor - Click HERE for Original Thread

1JZ_Cresta
Any D series motor for a 88 CRX i would prefer a D16 but i am flexable if the price is right

this is for a winter car so reliability is a huge factor.

megabyte
A freind of mine has a d15b7 what are you willing to spend.

1JZ_Cresta
cheap the most i want to spend is like 500 bucks the car is going to be a beater so as long as the motor is good then im laughing

Stacks
Look on the jdm importer sites. If I remember d-series go for dirt cheap and you can get low KMS!!!! I have a blown d-series but the head is still good and vtec. 200000 KMS. Let me know.

megabyte
PM me if your interested.

gfk.
the d15b7 should be cheap if you dont care go with it, no power!

megabyte
The D15b7 may not have power but it has low miles. i think under 170 000kms. that's young for a honda motor. You cant get more reliable than a d15. My buddys car got hit in the ass end so he is parting it out.

1JZ_Cresta
moerately interested in the motor if ya have pics let me know

megabyte
il get some pics for you tomorrow.

megabyte
Forgot to get some pics today. But if you want to come and see it. I'll rip it out of my buddys car if you want to come and see it.

1JZ_Cresta
well you dont need to rip it out for me to see it i would rather see it running first then you can yard it out

megabyte
We had it running but he took all the parts off the motor for another motor. It's it's got no starter or altinator. There is no rad in the car.

I've got one I want to get rid of in my Del Sol... Engine just recently died. It had a semi loose valve cover and needs a new valve cover gasket. That's also the source of my oil leak. Maybe it's just the spark plugs are covered in oil now. When I try to start it, it still cranks. You can have the tranny too.

You can have it for FREE if you bring your own hoist and jacks and have experience pulling an engine. I just want the engine out of there so I can start cleaning the engine bay.

PM me and we'll talk. I believe it's a D16 (not a D15) because it's a Del Sol Si and I don't know the last two letters/numbers. Frankly, I don't care enough about the D-series (or even the B-series) to know anything about them. They're dated. To me, they're worthless (and therefore free for you).

If the engine is completely dead, you paid nothing for it and you got parts. For me, I get my engine bay gutted for free.

I would say it died gracefully (no sudden jolts) as my car just decelerated and rolled to a stop.

1JZ_Cresta
moderately interested in the motor but i would still prefer a running motor i need something by the end of september

Scourge
No probs. Pretty much right after I posted, someone PM'ed me knowing the engine wasn't currently running but was still interested. I was quite surprised how quick the response was. Never figured a D-series would be in that much demand... Now I sorta wish I had asked for some $$$. :)

d16a6 head... 150,000 on it. Worked great. I also have the stock ecu!! Will plug and play in your car. Asking $50 for both.
