| Is there any places that will insure your modded out car for what its worth with all the parts incase its stolen or written off? |

Yes. Get it appraised and most insurers will cover it for appraised value.
They need to know about it though. You can't just have an appraisal and wait for something to happen, then expect them to cover it all.
My 240 is insured for 16k. |

Well it all depends on how much you want to risk. You could have PLPD with a car that has $20k in aftermarket parts, or....get it appraised and have your insurance go up a bit.

You'll have a much easier time to get your modifications insured if they are appearance-type (Stereo, wheels, etc...) rather than engine modifications.
Most insurance companies will cover visual modifications for a small amount, but few will cover any engine modifications without placing limitations on your driving. |

| Thats good to know but my car isn't appearance modified at all. So that is bad news. I will try to get it appraised still. |

| The thing with insurance is its always best to tell them. Because lets say you install a new modification to your car that increases its value but also changes the monthly rate you pay. Well lets say you take route 1 and dont tell them about it. Then something happens to your car, and as soon as they learn about that modification and the fact that you didnt inform them of it, you just voided your policy with them and get nothing. Take route 2 and tell them, and sure your rate goes up, but that rate going up just means that now your fully covered for everything that you have and wont be voiding your policy because your up to spec and have informed them of everything. |

As far as I know that will only happen with collision where your rates might take a big jump, if you just have comprehensive (fire, theft, vandalism) I think it starts a $50/year, and maxes out at like 320 or sumthin |

I think you're thinking about PLPD. I don't believe the grid system applies for comprehensive, only PLPD. |

I know its not the grid for comprehensive, but the cost does max out depending on the car which my insurer told me was 320. My jeep was 50 which was the cheapest, and when i got a quote for a 2001 911 turbo they said 320 |
