So as some of you may know, I've been searching for a BBQ to replace my old one. I was in the market for a Broil king but they are so expensive and seldom go on sale.
Last weekend I saw this BBQ on sale for $349.99 from it's regular price of $499.99 advertised on the Canadian Tire website:
Very decent features for the sale price and all SS build too.
I go to the CT on 9603 162ND and the staff look at me like I'm on crack. "Their" sale is for $449 and "They" don't know why it is being advertised at that price.
I goto the St. Albert Location and they were much more helpful, they tell me that each store is independently run and store specials are different from each location. Good to know.
She suggests that I contact the Ft. Road location as they have the largest stock of anyone in town for some strange reason (37)
I finally get around to giving them a call today and was told that the $349.99 was a two day special... Crap... She asks for the part number and I give it to her 85-1102. She says "Oh!, we have it on sale for $299.99" (?!) "We've got lots"
I jump into the matrix and boot it over to the Ft. Road store... Every where I look, the BBQ is listed for $449.99 Dammit, what the hell is going on?!. Apparently, this BBQ is ONLY listed at $299.99 on the computer system NOT ANYWHERE ELSE. I had to find some help to get this verified.
So for anyone looking for a super decent BBQ for an end of season sale, this is it $317.99 tax in, at the 13211 FORT ROAD location ONLY!
I don't know how long they will have this price for, but they've got 34 left, you can call 473-2394 and press "4" for seasonal (I think) to confirm. Good luck!. |

| Yeah superstore has some good grills, We also got ours at Extra foods in morinville,, its a 6 burner side table, and element. We paid 370 for it |

The superstore on the north side (castle downs and claireview) have pulled their stock, there was a floor demo on sale for $100 off but it was really, really worn out...

| Canadian tire is weird though, I went looking for a 14 inch cut off saw, saw it for sale onlnie for 199.99 regular is 299.99 get there and they have it as 299.99 so after talking to people and checking it out turns out they have it listed as 109.99 so i walked outta there with a 14 inch metal cut off saw for 1/3rd the price.. |

The sale price will most likely last awhile - any hassles you'd just need to talk to the manager and he'll give it to you.
What's happened is that the BBQ was available on special deal to the store (lower cost) and they stocked up. Now that the official sale is over they are getting rid of their inventory.
When I moved out my buddy (manager at CT) picked one up for me in the exact same scenario as you. Because they'd rather sell it than store it, you should be able to get 299 until they're sold out by just mentioning it. |

Edit: Oooh, they have the Nat Gas version listed for $50 more. Perhaps I can get them to give me the sale price on that?:dunno: |

I thought about the NG version as well, but I don't think it was on sale as they have 3 of those as opposed to the 30+ of the Propane version.
That really is a nice BBQ you got there Aaron, good price too!.
I think when I finally get this biatch together, I'll start a BBQ picture thread :D |
