Cam shaft sensor failed(fried)?? - Click HERE for Original Thread

SpecV_Ryder
can somebody explain this to me :(

I was gettin ready to leave work on a beautiful saturday afternoon then next thing you know my car (engine) would not start although my engine was cranking. I thought it might be due to the hot weather or condensation(bubble in the fuel line or something but I didn't have clue, so I had to get my car towed to the dealership saturday afternoon. I was about to get my car ready for the cruise that night... .

anybody know what caused that to fail?

Do you know for sure that it is the Cam Angle sensor? Cause it could be a number of reasons for the car not starting. Fuel/fuel system could also be the culpret.

This comes from Stephen Peckoff from the Canadain SE-R mailing list who runs a Spec V:

"I've had that happen a bunch of times, pisses me off everytime.

Right foot to the floor, hold it, crank and it should eventually start. Usually happens to me after not driving it for 4 or 5 days."

well, I went to get my car back from the dealer and basically the Cam Positioning sensor falied(broke)..so they replaced it and works fine now so I huess well see if anything changes.
