Are you happy with life? - Click HERE for Original Thread

95EagleAWD
Honest question.

I was driving home from the carwash tonight, music on, windows down.

Honestly, I can't think of how life could be much better than that moment. Yeah, I spent 9 hours at work, but I forget about it as soon as I leave. Just sitting in my car, doing something I love, life just seems good at the moment. I guess you could say I had one of those moments of bliss or something. I just wanna go drive all night on Friday.

Any opinions?

Invalid Zero
Yep. Life is great my friend.

Off topic though, I saw you driving home from the car wash in St Albert. Beauty of a car. :)

Thank you. :)

iLLlegal
ya im happy with it. for now anyway :dunno:
I hear what you mean with your car. my car has always been
the relaxing point of my day. the drive home from work or just cruisin around town.

hmm. I honestly haven't seen your car around town yet.
but then again I finally got the fairlady insured yesterday so I will be driving around alot more myself.

gtaylor
while i do like driving, and i think its relaxing.
driving in heavy rushhour traffic with grumpy fucks is not relaxing

iLLlegal
welll yeahhh if you put it that way. but what about nice country roads or just cruisin around town. doesnt it balance out? I hate rush hour but have never had a real problem with it unless I have some place to go.

Invalid Zero
Nice country roads??? They don't exist around here.

iLLlegal
a guy can dream can't he!

thats what I think of when im in those rushhour situations

Sure they do.

I won't post where I ride, but if you hang out with some guys with motorbikes, they'll tell you the best places.

In/around Edmonton. And NOT Groat Road (jeez).

So PM me.:dunno:

I'm hot and cold about life.
Sure I've had the moments of bliss, backpacking with the family acouple weeks ago when I was on holidays. I'm looking at the lake as we walk to it holding hands thinking wow wow wow, life couldn't be greater.

Now today(friday) I've been back to work for a few day and thursday we had dentist apoitments. The whole family goes in so its done all at once. Wife, I 6 year old boy and my 3 year old daughter. Pretty much blows the whole day. Now when my Boss comes in its goina be a yell match with him. I don't mean hey whats going on where where were you.

Its 7:15am right now and he don't come in till around 9:00am. I've had 6 people come up and give me warnings about the Boss. This is the kinda stuff that a guy can do with out.

So I'll sit back and wait it out till he comes and and rips me a new asshole for 10minutes.

life is great but one person can ruin a month so quick.
quiting is not a option

Wish my day was that short... kidding.

whenever i feel the pressure though I just think spartan, if that doesn't give you motivation to kick ass whether in the workplace or anywhere else..not sure what does.

i even have his picture of king leonidas above my desk

i'm happy in life but the only stress I have is work..and well possible pressure to get a place. maybe if i had a wife and kids would have a different answer..

like someone said, fav time for me is cruising

euro777
this time last year i would of said not so much, i was a broke student, not sure what i was going to end up doing and stressing about finances, term papers and business plans.

but....i got an awsome job 2 days after my last final in april. and my three month probation period is over and im picking up a cert. cheque today after work and ill be behind the wheel of my 05 350z by 6:00 today. thank you UofA school of business for the education and my family and friends for the support, and finally thank myself for the perseverance and patience to get-er-done.

i knew i was going to buy a hot car the day the bank would give me a loan, and i locked in a good rate like 2 months ago, all they needed was a letter stating my salary and my permanent status from work. this time last year no place would even let me test drive any cool cars, and i definetly remembered this when it was time to make a deal. on a side note, the most respect i got was from park mazda, the sales guy threw me the keys to an 07 rx-8 and let me take it out alone, that was fun- good old rotary's. :D

I can honestly say that I'm pretty damn happy with life at this moment.

Just got back from practice day at the race track, theres no better feeling than hauling ass around a track hanging off the bike, having the suspension set up just right and picking up speed, and keeping up with people who used to be faster than you

Flex
any day being on this side of the grass is a good day........

Dont sweat the petty stuff and dont pet the sweaty stuff.........:D

THUD
Life for me these days sucks, same old shit every day and I walk around with Dead eye's.
Part of it is by choice the other is my Super Reliable civic that has left me on the side of the road to many times this summer.
My car is the source of my unhappyness perhaps a nice new car will save me, I sat and looked at a 350z yestarday for a good while and a few civics, I so very need a holiday and to see the mountians.
Well now I go see if I can get the car going 4 days without it so far and it's cost me $180 bucks being broken...Pffft I hate being negitive<

ron1
ok tell what could be better in life than posting on 780tuners.

life can't get any better than that

little_one_der
Am I happy with life.

There's two sides to this for sure.
On one side, I'm ecstatic about being a 2nd year apprentice machinist, about to challenge my next test. I'm only 22 and have met the woman I will marry. I have one cheap, efficient daily driver, and one fun little sports car. I have some investments here and there.

On the other side.
Lately, I'm a broke ass joke. My rent is a ridiculous 1175/month. Cell phone, electricity, and cable & internet take a nice pile of money from me. I still have car payments on the DD, and insurance payments, and line of credit payments, and payment payments..... work is slow, so there is no gravy train. And at the end of the month I have less that 50 bucks, and I usually send that over the the line of credit. I don't care what anyone says, it is NOT a good market for first home buyers.

But I do have to say that 89% of my day, I am happy about how I stand!

Bad Egg
As one of those with more "life experience", gained by being an old fart with lots of lifes bumps & bruises, I have found you have to grab the good moments where you can.

There can be a lot of negative crap happening in your life beyond your control, but if you can still get that shit-eating grin from a good car blasting through a good curve...you can still be happy...for a while.

Cars can be very good therapy. Too bad my GT4 therapy has been out of commission pretty much all summer. With any luck it will be back on the road before September.

ron1

going down Groat Road at a ridiculious speed for example

not that I have ever done that

:D :D :D :D :D

Prudz_lude
life has been on a rapid decline for me. I am just glad i have a great girlfriend who loves me. Otherwise suicide would be looking quiet nice.

I still said life is good because i still believe it will get better.

ehos
The only problems I ever seem to have involve money (duh). But all I have to say is, 'you'll make more' and they go away instantly.

If money is your 'problem' then relax, and be happy, you don't really have a problem. (You'll make more).

little_one_der
You know what ehos, I totally agree with you. The issues I have with money seem to go away every time I get paid. It's just that, it sucks that things like my rent isn't going toward an asset. And I just wished I could afford a dp on a house that isn't severely overpriced as I see it. If I was making house payments, I wouldn't feel half as bad financially.

No matter how much money you have you'll still want more, unless you are content with what your doing and what you have(the little things in life)you'll never be happy.Personally, for me,i'm only happy when i'm learning new stuff meeting new people and bouncing ideas off others.

MAPEX
the happiness of life has a limit cu'z what u see in this world it just a temporary not the eternal life...

bakerrrtsi
windows down, sound of your car running prime.....maybe some music too on a nice evening, just out for a drive forgetting about everything else in the world:D :D
life can't get much better then

accord90
Stuck in a boring underpaid job, want to go to school but its not possable right now and I have no clue where I'll be in a year or two. Damn parents

dbsrt
Hey man anything is possible,it just depends on how badly you want it to happen. You can only cop-out by blaming your parents for so long start taking responsiblity for what happens in your life.Dammit man take the controls.Don't be afraid to screw up 'cause that's usually the best way to learn.

accord90
By Stuck I mean working for my parents, where if I were to quit I'd pretty much be thrown out. That part I wouldn't have a huge problem with. Here's the problem I'm faceing, both my cars are under my dad's name (which I paid for). I've threatened to leave but my dad would just call the police and report the cars stolen. So yes I have the choice but I'd be giving up over $30000 to get out. Yes I could take my dad to court for backed pay and the cars but I'm not that kind of person. I'll ride in out another year and see were I am.

dbsrt
Shitty deal,i could tell you ten different divorce stories where people lost a lot more money plus respect and dignity, but i won't.Have you tried talking to them explaining what you'd like to try to accomplish?Nobody wins in court except the lawyers.Don't suppose you have the reciepts for your vehicles?

i would have to say my 2007 has been my worst eyar of my life yet..
losing an uncle and a close friend within a 5 day span
friends and gf's fucking you over
and ze automobile breaking down every pay day...
kinda blows

im opting for 2008 to be my best year :)

tho_chi
I'll say I'm fairly content with life right now, looking forward to grade 12 and only having one more year of high school. The main thing I am looking forward to is next spring when I get a new car:D That thought is what keeps me happy and in line

I'm only 18 and have my whole life ahead of me. It just pisses me off when I talk to them and ask what they plan for the next year it ends up being a huge argument. The cars were both bought under my dad's name so thats what the bill states. I'm debateing on selling my new car to free up some cash and buy something funner but that will be another huge argument I don't want to have with them.
