Hey do they still do ride alongs? Is the RCMP the only ones who offer ride alongs or does the EPS also offer them? I am looking at entering the policing field but I would like to get a better feel for the job and see exactly what goes on when they are patrolling.

I was intrested as well a few years ago.
Simply walk into the a police station and ask them if they offer ride alongs at there station.
My personal experience is that i had to complete 100 community hours at the police station then afterwards I enjoyed a ride along.
I had this oppurtunity at the Old police building 66st and 137ave Edmonton Alberta.
Currently I am unsure if they changed the policy. |

In Calgary all I had to do was fill out an application and I was on a ride-a-long the next week.
As for the rules here in edmonton, I dont know. My uncle was a cop so I used to be able to go out whenever I wanted. |
