Trailer load width - Click HERE for Original Thread

GsiTurbo
I am contemplating importing trailable sailboat. While the boat itself does comply with canadian regulations, I am having some problems finding info regarding the maximum width of and item on the trailer (BC/AB). The boat is 270cm wide (106.2in) and this is the concern. What it the maximum permissible width of an item on a trailer, that does not require vehicle in front with those wonderful "wide load" signs?

Thanks for all replies.

>10' wide, you need a wide load sign. <10' but wider than the trailor requires you to flag/ribbon the sides. trailors tend to be as wide as 102" so 106" is no big deal at all.
