I was just wondering if anyone knows if I can take a laptop I purchased back after a month , The performance is just horrible and I feel I need something way better, Maybe a desktop

I dont mind instore credit because Ill get another one , this one just sucks?

REFLUX
You bought it from Futureshop?
You'll be lucky if they don't look blankly at you and break out laughing

I make it a point to NOT go to Futureshop for anything.

Its outside policy as return on a computer is only 14 days but if your just looking to upgrade it to a better one it shouldnt be a problem to make happen. Which store was it bought at?

I return stuff there constantly...never had a problem :dunno:

I've never returned a computer, but I think that's all I haven't returned.

try calling and maybe talking to the general manager, let them know the salesperson didn't explain it enough, and you want something with more power to it and you are willing to pay the difference in a new computer, also tell them your willing to buy PSP, their warrranty and they should bend over backwards for you

at bestbuy, they would fight you for returns or anything, but if you mentioned you wanted to get something more expensive and buy PSP warranty on it, the managers would be all over that and be like yea go for it.

I don't try to return software/games because as a rule nobody will take it back...so I know if I want the software before i buy it.

First off on the software issue, if its opened by law it cant be returned for a refund, only exchanged for the same title. Thats not a Future Shop policy thats actual law. As far as the other goes, you dont need to tell them that the sales guy didnt explain it properly unless thats what actually happened. Just tell them the truth and that you want to upgrade. I know it wouldnt be an issue at my store and it wouldnt have been at my previous one either. But if your gonna do it act NOW cause it is getting further away from being an acceptable action.

I brought up the software thing because a computer will also contain software. I have never heard of someone being able to return a pc without running into the software issue.

I ahve never had the issue of software on a comp being a problem. When a computer is returned to the store a full restore and set up is done so it complies with the privacy act as well as to check funtionality. Never once have I been around where we refused the return/exchange of a computer due to software.

Must vary from store to store then.

Isn't most/all software that comes with a pc pre-installed anyways? So you wouldn't even have to open it all?
