Saturday's autocross is going to be at Namao, which ROCKS. Anyone else going besides the usual (Jer & Ryan & I)? Like maybe Chromey wanna put your money where your mouth is and show us all how to remove bumpers with just pylons?

FYI- everyone needs to pre-register by aug. 20 11am. that also includes specatators. it's held at a military base so they have to run everyone's name through security.
if you've never been to an autox and are interested, this is definately the venue to be at. the track layout tends to be faster, more wide open and easier to follow(no laps). larger cars tend to do better at namao than greisbach so bring out your skylines, nsxs, soarers, corvettes and any other behemoth you may drive.

I was reading from there, to the WCMA and found out my car is a "Class F" meaning, "Class FuckingAwesome" (for those of you who don't know, it actually has to do with tire and wheel size/width if I'm not wrong...)
I'd love to attend, I wish I could, but I work saterdays :( I hate working weekends, I miss all the car stuff!!

Military or not, it's an ASA event, and most or all ASA events require preregistration. You could show up at 9:30 and see if you can register there, but it could be full ... hence why preregistering is good. :thumbup:

Oh well, it will be fun to stretch the Corolla's legs. So much has been done to this car since I was last at the Garrison it's crazy. Coilovers, adjustable dampers, new engine, racing seat, grippy tires, sway bars, 6 puck clutch, TRD 2 way LSD.
Fuck, no wonder my bank accounts are empty.:( |

Nope, it's too stiff. We bought the "middle" one and have it on the lightest setting, but it wants to spin you around in a circle when you turn too hard. It's really annoying when you're used to FWD understeer. We have photo evidence of threewheeling too.

That's pretty lame that they DQd my times. I told them that I had to work from 4 to midnight and they said it wouldn't be a problem. Frankly I don't care about the standings, I just wanted to see my times and how they progressed.
Whatever, if they are that anal about it I doubt I'll be attending their events in the future. |

Who did you talk to? If you would have talked to me at the timing tent I would have told you if you can't stick around to marshal fun runs then you can't run.
You can call it lame or anal or anything else ... but that doesn't change the fact that if you are going to run and expect others to pick up your cones (and there were a few if I recall) and time your runs then you should step up and do the same. I'm willing to bet that you didn't run for one cone all day long.
I don't speak for anyone but myself. If it were up to me I wouldn't give you your times either.

I caught one cone all day and yes, I did help out with marshalling. They asked me to join in on the timing but there ended up being two people out there so I was sending cars out to line up.
Frankly all I want to see are my times. I don't care if they count towards whatever points system you guys have since this is the first event I was able to make it out to this year. If I'd known that it would be such a massive issue then I wouldn't have run in the fun runs. So I'm sorry I took off like that, but like I said, I had to work. If someone had told me that I wouldn't get my times when I asked about leaving for work then I obviously would have just left before the fun runs. |

Well how about this ... I marshalled for both fun runs, and didn't go for a fun run myself. So substitute me for Chromey, I marshalled on his behalf ... and give him his times!! LOL
Chromey, sorry I still have your tape, text me and I'll bring it to you anytime (after work today, whatever). You were very impressive out there, I didn't even know you caught one cone ... but we all beat you in Pax. Haaa haaa :D Yeah don't mention how I generally sucked tho!

| Yeah, we could do that. We totally need a remote mic for next time, but the tape was great otherwise. I like the in-car when the angle catches the rear view, you can watch eyeballs getting bigger during spinouts or Ryan's "I'm gonna kill you" face. The fender cams on the NSX and STi were awesome too; you could see the reflection of the pylons in the body. Great plan! |

You attended the drivers meeting and were told if you run in the first group you have to stay to marshal for the second group or you won't get times. It's only fair to everyone, as stated on the drivers meeting no one is paid to do this so we all have to put in the time. Ultimately, it ends up being a safety issue if we don't have enough marshals for the group.
I'm sorry if you feel like this is an anal approach to the situation but it's how we deal with it. |

I know I was at the drivers' meeting, don't patronize me. If someone had said it was an issue when I asked then I wouldn't have run, simple as that. Nobody ever said that I wouldn't get my times. Frankly I don't give a shit about the times anymore, I have a decent idea of what I ran, but I think you guys are a little overboard with this.
I have contributed quite a bit ot the autox events over the years, marshalling and taking photos at many events when I wasn't driving. But I guess that all goes out the window when someone makes a mistake. |

I don't know their names off hand. I honestly can't even recall who the specific person was. He didn't specifically say that I could run and then not marshall, but I said that I needed to leave to get to work at 4 and he said I should still have time to get in some fun runs.
